Geee John boy maybe you should not have pulled the comment section from the original article...did you do it under some pressure? Or maybe you got paid, just tell us why, lets face it John ,the egotistical poacher has $$$ and you bent for that and that reason only!
FYI, that fact has angered more then one person, so now you should answer the question why?, or go on paying the price for your actions....
Come on Johnny tell us you didn't pull the comment section because of money $$$🤥🤥🤥💰💰😤😤😤

Editor's Note: We closed the comments on the original post because Mr. Kautx admitted fault, paid his fee and does not even live here, He lives in Lodi.

We had numerous inbound emails requesting we run the story which we did. In the interest of fairness please ask yourselves would this even be news if his last name was Smith or Jones.

You will notice that on many traffic cases we try to not use names in the stories. Yes, you can see the names in the images of the report but not in a form where search engines can easily find them.

When people make the news it is not always pleasant for them and it is our hope that isolated incidents in a person's life does not follow them for years afterwards if another person was not injured or killed.

As an example should a non-injury DUI prevent a person from getting a job five years from now?

Anyone has the right to have their misdeeds fade into the past if there were not injured parties or a death.

I have also never met this member of the Kautz family.

That's right No Mistake was made !...wanted his name in the record book,
And because he has money... you want to be his buddy....a good old boy he is not.... egotistical rich boy.... money couldn't buy his way into the record book so he used a spotlight at night in the fenced in vineyard To feed his greed....Bragged about it enough to get caught .. I don't care what his name is or what his family has done for anyone, he doesn't get any credit for someone else's actions and our taxes and license purchase had to pay for his criminal activity
That makes me more than pissed!.. that and the fact that Pinetree's Johnboy pulled the comments......it's all about $$$, not truth and justice, John can you and his hunting buddy that helped him bag the big one really sleep at night?

Nice spin John, it's obvious that you are trying to back pedal and alter the original story to make it sound like it was sort of an accident or innocent mistake. #1, he never admitted "fault", He pled "no contest" that is not an admission of fault or guilt .. just accepting the fact that he got caught.
#2, you said he paid his "fee", sounds like he paid for a membership to something, he did pay a "fine", big difference John I'll let you look that one up if you really don't know.
#3, it doesn't matter where he lives. I mean really?, tell me of another time you pulled an article about a criminal just because he didn't live here.
#4, it makes no difference what his name is. He was convicted of “Unlawfully targeting animals for their trophy qualities, that is an egregious violation. And that is what makes it newsworthy. The fact is if his name was Smith or Jones you wouldn't have pulled the article not the other way around....again John nice spin.
#5, although I don't agree with your analogy, you are correct that no person was injured or killed, an animal however was slaughtered for nothing more then its antlers. You might be ok with that but I'm not!
#6, again, it doesn't matter what his name is, it doesn't matter if you have or haven't met the person. You say you don't hunt and never have and that is probably another reason why you treat poaching as something trivial rather then the epidemic that it is.
I'd like to see you contact the California department of fish and wildlife and do a feature article on the Profile of a poacher and the poaching industry.

Ha. I knew before looking that there'd be a Kautz joke comment. Maybe time to let that go and the courts handle.

Oh boy, we get to read about idiot drivers driving like......well idiots, in wet conditions. I hope you bozo's who were driving too fast total your cars because of your stupidity, BUT are not physically hurt or have hurt anyone else because of your lack of common sense and driving skills.
Have a wonderful, car-free day. The sensible, safe drivers, are happy that you're off our roads.
