Mother Lode Wrestling Association Holds Finals Tonight at Bret Harte ~ By Bethany Monk (Updated with Results)

Angels Camp, C.A….The Bret Harte gymnasium is going to be packed tonight, according to Bret Harte assistant wrestling coach Mike Borean….

MotherLode Wrestling Association teams began competing at 11 a.m. Friday.


The MotherLode Wrestling Association, which includes Amador, Calaveras, Tuolumne, and Sonora counties, began its day-long events today, Feb. 8 at 11 a.m. at the Bret Harte gym where hundreds of people have gathered to cheer on their respective teams.

Tonight at 6 p.m., the gym will draw even more people, as wrestlers with today’s with top scores complete each other during the finals match.

As of 3:30 p.m. on Feb. 8, Bret Hart and Calaveras high schools hold the day’s top scores, according to Todd Sherrow, the association’s contact person for Bret Harte High School. Calaveras High School holds the top scores overall for the MotherLode Wrestling Association, he added.

Mother Lode Associations Top 3 TOC qualifiers will compete Sunday, Feb. 17 at Columbia College in Sonora. For more information call Kevin Day at (209) 928-3361 or (209) 770-4484 or Pat Eaton at (209) 743-8086.
