Calaveras Telephone Systems Administrator Position
Department: Information Technology
Reports To: Company President
General Summary
Responsible for designing, organizing, modifying, and supporting the company's computer systems and maintaining the Windows Servers and a Citrix Xendesktop based VDI deployment. Designs and installs LANs, WANs, Internet and intranet systems, and network segments. Provides systems support to ensure integrity of company operating systems and software. Facilitates operating and software system installations, configurations, patches, updates and upgrades. Performs performance and security monitoring. Troubleshoots system related problems and issues and works with vendors to resolve technical issues. Ensures systems are backed up and restores/rebuilds servers as needed.
Essential Job Functions
- Maintains the company’s computer systems efficiency and ensures that design of the systems allows all components to work properly together
- Maintains and monitors networks and system security and manages security and availability to specific users
- Facilitates operating and software system installations, configurations, patches, updates and upgrades. Researches system needs and specifications to determine needed system updates and upgrades
- Performs performance and security monitoring and resolves identified issues
- Troubleshoots system related problems and issues and works with vendors to resolve technical issues
- Ensures systems are backed up properly and restores/rebuilds servers as needed
- Research and purchase computers, computer components and peripherals
- Answers technical queries and assists users
- Performs all duties assigned by management*
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Advanced knowledge of computer science principles and practices
- Knowledge of active directory management and design
- Knowledge of Microsoft Windows operating systems both desktop and server versions with Windows Server 2012 R2 or later
- Knowledge of Citrix Remote desktops
- Knowledge of Sage 100 ERP accounting software
- Knowledge of Cisco UCS Mini Architecture
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office, both desktop and Office 365
- Knowledge of virtualization technologies with a shared storage using Hyper-V or VMware Vsphere >5.5
- Skill in problem solving.
- Skill in managing, designing, and deploying corporate networks.
- Skill in reading and interpreting technical documents, information and codes
- Ability to communicate with and help co-workers in a professional and courteous manner
- Ability to organize and prioritize multiple on-going work assignments
- Ability to make sound technical decisions using information at hand
- Ability to adapt to change
Experience Desired
A minimum of five years of industry related experience and experience in a Windows domain environment is required.
