Local Firefighters "Fill the Boot for Burns"
Angels Camp, CA….On February 23rd , 2008 local firefighters from the Angels Camp Fire Department will be participating in the national “Fill the Boot for Burns” fundraiser. Firefighters will be holding their boots at the intersection of Murphys Grade and Main Street in Angels Camp from 9:00am-3:00pm. This heroic event helps raise money to support burn victims and burn prevention....
On February 23rd, 2008 firefighters seen on Angels Camp streets may not be responding to a fire or other emergency. Off-duty firefighters from Angels Camp Fire Department will be shaking their turnout boots and collecting donations to help “Fill the Boot for Burns”. Held in conjunction with National Burn Awareness Week, this event helps raise money to support burn prevention and recovery programs in Northern and Central California.
Firefighters will be asking the community to help support burn recovery programs including Firefighters Kids Camp for Young Burn Survivors, and other burn programs funded by the Firefighters Burn Institute.
Similar “Boot Drives” are being held simultaneously throughout the nation.
