All of the bickering back and forth about marijuana isn’t going to matter because at the rate people are leaving the department there won’t be a department to run. Dispatch is losing people with experience and knowledge, patrol officers barely stay for their full year of probation, and the jail shouldn’t even be open! There are barely enough correctional officers to cover all shifts even if they are working 12 hour shifts, 7 days a week. Morale is at an all time low. The department needs better leaders.

I’m voting for Gary Stevens. I’ve seen him speak at a recent campaign event. He talked about enforcing the ban by coordinating with federal law enforcement agencies. He also spoke up about the need to vote for Clyde Clapp and to oppose the recalls of Dennis Mills and Gary Tofanelli. We need a sheriff who will crack down on the criminals and corruption.

The previous board did not consider IRS or Board of Equalization requirements as part of their Urgency Ordinance. The ordinance by itself was a disaster in process thinking and the missing parts make it even worse. We are the California connection to so many marijuana busts in other states that we as a county should be charged under RICO statutes for conspiracy to commit and intent to distribute. Just my thoughts,

The BOS had no choice but to extend the UO for one year until they could ban. The UO should not have been enacted knowing that one of the BOS has a brother-in-law who is a grower. What's worse is that Megan Stedfeldt consulted with this BOS member just before the vote and evidently did not advise this BOS to recuse. Wow. Commercial cultivation is harmful to this county. Let individuals do what they want with it.

Gary is an old-time thinker with old standards of law enforcement. War on Drugs "FAIL" but he will continue to push this type of rhetoric. Rick is just an appointed low paid beurocrat who has tried hard but hardly has been savvy enough to do anything. Easy to have the planning dept tell you where the grows are so you can cut them down. No police work in that. Garrahan will make the difference. Vote yes for Garrahan

Garrahan has experience in police administration in other jurisdictions here in California and over in Afghanistan. He has lived here decades and knows the local issues. Put that broad experience for grants and creative programs to Calaveras County and you've got a safer county. New blood. New sheriff. We are voting for Pat!

            * It was a buck for the record books – with sprawling antlers about an arm’s width apart. If Kautz, 52, had been able to claim it as an official trophy, he could have added it to his long list of accomplishments detailed on the website of his family’s Lodi grape growing business, Ironstone Vineyards.

We remember you gary, you left years ago why now? Oh, that's an easy one the crusade for fame and being an anti marijuana man. Pat all the way, at least he has an opinion that's honest. They both sit around all day and troll the internet, Gary keeps mostly to Logan’s Run fanfic forums, where he spins elaborate tales about how he will instigate a reactionary counter-revolution by running for sheriff of Calaveras County foiling the cannaspiracy to corrupt the minds of citizenry and return the county from the dystopic nightmare of prosperity and economic growth generated through high value agricultural commodities production. The other just trolls the enterprise and the pine tree pretending to be high, similar end product just different venues.

We deserve better, this hasn't anything do do with anti or pro marijuana , it has to do with standards of being a decent human being. Being kind and doing your job, there is a reason he was gone for so long. We remember,we deserve better and that's anyone but gary stevens. If the folks that say I'm voting gary and he's nothing like todd fordahl than you are not a true local and wouldn't remember. So stop talking like you know because clearly you dont.

Garrison is pro pot.
He spoke with the Democrats as per their site here:
http://calaverasdemocrats.org/pat-garrahan-calaveras-sheriff-home/
then they refer to this site with a picture of him at what I think is the San Andreas Town Hall? Strange.
http://www.calaverasenterprise.com/news/article_cc90429e-c04f-11e7-b456-878ca9103f0c.html

DiBasilio and Stevens are against pot.
They both spoke to the Republicans here.
http://www.calaverasenterprise.com/news/article_dbc80da2-1e53-11e8-8046-bf973538cf25.html

Hope this helps. And hopefully The Pine Tree will put videos of all the debates on for us.

Stevens, Mills, Clapp, and Tofanelli are pushing for the most massive federal crackdown on local residents of their property rights in memory. Mills wants the EPA and DEA and joint task force with emergency police powers (that’s marshall law) to impose federal law and trample on our way of life.
