Jackson Rancheria Casino Resort Presents Pop & Motown Legends, the Commodores
Jackson, CA...Jackson Rancheria Casino Resort invites you to get your groove on with the award winning Commodores; April 5, 2018 in our Grand Oak Ballroom. Having sold over 60 million records, the Commodores were one of the largest selling acts for Motown in the 70’s and 80’s. But they didn’t stop there. Wanting to produce a greatest hits album and the refusal from Motown to release control over their material, The Commodores were forced to create all new digital recordings of their classic hits. Between 1991 and 1992 they had recorded enough material, with J.D. Nicholas and Clyde Orange alternating lead vocals, to release their two disc set Commodores Hits Vol I and Commodores Hits Vol II. In addition to the reemergence of these classic hits, the group also produced an album featuring all-new material, Commodores XX – No Tricks, which was released in 1993 under their own label Commodores Records and Entertainment.
Throughout the decades, the Commodores have proven time and time again that they’re soulful renditions will stand the test of time. From winning their university’s freshman talent show at Tuskegee University in Alabama in 1968, releasing their 1986 Grammy winning hit “Night Shift”, to their induction into the Vocal Group Hall of fame in 2003, they have gone on to win the hearts of millions. Young and old alike can be heard singing along to their greatest hits, such as, “Easy”, “Three Times a Lady” and “Brickhouse”, and they will continue to entertain fans for generations to come.
