Caltrans to Begin Repaving Project on Hwys 108/120 in Stanislaus & Tuolumne Counties

Stanislaus/Tuolumne County – The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) is preparing a highway improvement project that will repave 34 miles of State Route 108/(SR-108) and SR-120 in Stanislaus and Tuolumne counties. The project will begin at Lancaster Road in eastern Stanislaus County and continue to the SR-108/SR-49 junction in Tuolumne County, as well as to Moccasin Creek Bridge on SR-120 in southern Tuolumne County. This project will extend the service life of the existing pavement and improve efficiency and safety for motorists on these highways.

This $20.3 million project is being performed by George Reed Inc. of Modesto.

Work is scheduled to start Monday, April 2, 2018, with the project expected to finish in October 2018. Night work will typically be from 7:00 p.m. until 5:00 a.m., with day work usually from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Friday’s work will typically end at 3:00 p.m.

Motorists can expect lane closures and one-way traffic control, with flaggers handling the traffic flow, and 10-minute delays during the project. Please leave extra time to reach your destination, and be aware of vehicles and workers adjacent to the roadway.

Due to Senate Bill 1, more projects like this one are under way and in the works across the state to improve roadways. Work is scheduled to begin as listed, but is subject to change due to traffic, weather, equipment, materials or construction-related issues.
