Gilchrist County Sheriff’s Office on Deaths of Deputy Taylor Lindsey & Sergeant Noel Ramirez

Trenton, FL...The Gilchrist County Sheriff’s Office and Sheriff Bobby Schultz are mourning the loss of two of their family members, Sergeant Noel Ramirez and Deputy Sheriff Taylor Lindsey, shot to death inside the Ace China restaurant in Trenton around 3:00pm this afternoon.

Home to 66 full-time employees, 27 of them serving their community as deputy sheriffs, their loss is significant. Sheriffs from throughout the area and state officials are supporting the agency and citizens of Gilchrist County with protective patrols, investigative assistance, and any other needs. Supporting agencies include, but are not limited to: the Levy County Sheriff’s Office, Alachua County Sheriff’s Office,

Baker County Sheriff’s Office, Bradford County Sheriff’s Office, Columbia County Sheriff’s Office, Dixie County Sheriff’s Office, Lafayette County Sheriff’s Office, Marion County Sheriff’s Office, Putnam County Sheriff’s Office, Seminole County Sheriff’s Office, Suwannee County Sheriff’s Office, Taylor County Sheriff’s Office, Union County Sheriff’s Office, Gilchrist County Fire Rescue, Gilchrist County Emergency Management, Chiefland Police Department, Trenton Department of Public Safety, Williston Police Department, Florida Department of Agriculture, Florida Department of Corrections, Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission, Florida Highway Patrol, Florida Department of Law Enforcement, the Office of the Attorney General for Florida, and the State Attorney’s Office for the 8th Judicial Circuit.

Sergeant Ramirez, 29 years old, leaves behind a wife and two young children. With over seven years’ total law enforcement experience, Noel served at both the Williston Police Department and the Levy County Sheriff’s Office before joining the Gilchrist County Sheriff’s Office in 2016.

Deputy Lindsey, 25, served for over three years with the Gilchrist County Sheriff’s Office, originally joining the Sheriff’s Office in 2013. Sheriff Schultz made personal notification to loved ones of both deputies this afternoon.

Both our heroes had simply sat down to eat while on duty. There was no crime in progress, no disturbance. The suspect appears to have walked to the front of the business and shot both men without warning. Two holes in the window are visible tonight.

The shooter, found deceased from a gunshot wound by responders outside the business nearby, has been identified as John Hubert Highnote, 59, of Bell. No further information is available regarding the assailant, and the Florida Department of Law Enforcement is conducting the active, ongoing criminal investigation.

There is no indication of any ongoing threat to our community, and we remain committed to your safety with the help of our other assisting agencies as this tragedy touches us all.

The gang MS13 has asked people to assassinate law enforcement officers, BLM hates officers, the Media paints officers as trigger happy, and up here in the Motherlode we pay them so cheaply that they leave to go below where they get a bigger paycheck so they can support their families doing dangerous work. Add to the fact, our DA and Judges let out felons caught with a firearm, drugs, committing crimes and give them the minimum bail so they're out on the streets doing what they want all over again. This makes our officers go after the same dangerous criminals all over again, where they should of been behind bars until trial. It's amazing people want to even risk being in law enforcement at all, let alone up here.

MS13, originated in LA Calif. Those illegals came here from our Southern Border that many people don't want to secure, and want to give then Sanctuary. Because of those people these problems came to where they are today. So congratulations to all of you, letting gangs like this grow in our country. This is what having illegals not being deported, roaming free in our country, and our Gov Brown doesn't give a damn, those are future votes for the Democratic Party, and I'm sick of being a registered democrat.
MS13 ~ "MS-13 is an international criminal gang that originated in Los Angeles, California, US in the 1980s. The gang later spread to many parts of the continental United States, Canada, Mexico, and Central America, and is active in urban and suburban areas. Most members are of Central American origin, principally El Salvador." These were illegal immigrants coming through our southern border, they are the ones who asked for people to assassinate law enforcement officers.
All of those not in favor of our wall? Congratulations YOU HELPED cause this.

Arm each and every citizen with a gun and I promise you, these coward low life’s will turn their back and run away. Texas is a good example. Jerry Brown has “ruined” this state!! A lot of us have worked hard and prospered over years here so, stuck here is not a choice. Flatlanders are flocking into our area and most are good honest folks... times are changing for sure.

" illegal alien drunk drivers kill 13 Americans every day — that’s a death toll of 4,745 per year.[4]"
"Border Patrol admits for everyone captured, another 2.7 make it into the United States undetected. Of the individuals who are apprehended, as many as 30% of them already have a criminal record in the United States."
“The Mexican drug cartels have almost toppled the Mexican Government and they are crossing into Arizona at will. In Mexico, over 42,000 lives have been lost to their wars and that number is rising by the hour. Their illegal drug trade is a forty billion dollar a year industry. The stakes are so high and the competition so fierce, that Mexican warlords are sparing no expense. Pinal County has seen mass murders, execution-style slayings, sexual assaults, kidnappings, shootings, armed robberies, burglaries, and more — all tied to illegal immigration.”

An FBI crime study also shows heavy illegal alien involvement in criminal activity revealed these statistics:

75 percent of those on the most wanted criminals list in Los Angeles, Phoenix and Albuquerque are illegal aliens.
One quarter of all inmates in California detention centers are Mexican nationals, as are more than 40 percent of all inmates in Arizona and 48 percent in New Mexico jails.
Over 53 percent of all investigated burglaries reported in California, New Mexico, Nevada, Arizona, and Texas are perpetrated by illegal aliens.
63 percent of cited drivers in Arizona have no license, no insurance and no registration for the vehicle. Of that number, 97 percent are illegal aliens. 66 percent of cited drivers in New Mexico have no license, no insurance and no registration for the vehicle. Of that 66 percent, 98 percent are illegal aliens.[15]

Democrats and Liberals, working their magic on our country, trying with all their might to bring our country down to a 3rd world country

Simple-sounding solutions appeal to simple minds. Your mind appears to be very simple.

A wall will be ugly, expensive and do next to nothing to stop illegal immigration. The existing sections of wall are routinely breached. But even if the walls were better, there are dozens of other ways to get into the US. Building a wall is like plugging one hole in a bucket that has 20 holes.

If Congress really wanted to do something useful on immigration they'd set up a functional e-verify system and penalize employers who hire illegal aliens. They'd set up both a guest worker program and establish a path to citizenship for immigrants who have been here many years, not committed additional crimes and integrated into our communities (gone to school, been employed, learned English, etc.).

Actually deporting all the illegal aliens currently here would collapse the US economy, particularly the agricultural economy.

God gave you the power of reason. If watching FOX has destroyed that power for you, then I suggest you subscribe to a real newspaper and find out what is actually going on.

      You are ill informed.
California does not have an excess budget for imprisoning criminals, that's why they are being farmed out to county jails.

In the picture, snapped in the darkness of a Wilton vineyard, Jack Kautz crouches behind a dead buck, smiling as he holds up the animal's head by its freakishly large set of antlers.

It was a buck for the record books with sprawling antlers about an arm's width apart. If Katuz 52, had been had been able to claim it is a official trophy, he could have added it to his long list of accomplishments detailed on the website of his family's Lodi grape growing business, Ironstone Vineyards.
