Murphys, CA...Merita Callaway, District 3 County Supervisor, and long-time Calaveras resident Evelyn Parisotto will be the featured speakers at the Calaveras American Association of University Women (AAUW) Branch meeting on Thursday, March 13, 2008, 4-6pm at Murphys Diggins in Murphys....

The meeting begins with refreshments, followed by a brief membership meeting and a program celebrating "Women in History" month. Merita Callaway, District 3 County Supervisor, will talk about her background and her work in the private and public sectors. Evelyn Parisotto, a resident of Calaveras County for many years and former instructor at UC-San Francisco Medical School, will also share her life and career experiences. Anyone interested in the mission is invited to attend a meeting and learn more about this dynamic organization.

The Calaveras AAUW meets every other month for hors d’oeuvres and beverages on the second Thursday of the month, 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the Diggins in Murphys. For further information about the Calaveras Branch of AAUW, the public may contact Sue Eckblom, 754-4925, or Marj Geiszler, 754-3256.
