Glencoe, CA..."Regards to Broadway", the third concert of the inaugural season of the Arts Committee of Northeast Calaveras County (ACNECC), will take place on Sunday, March 9, at the American Legion Hall in Glencoe, starting at 3 pm. The concert is a vocal tribute to the history of American musical theatre, from the pre-World War I days of George M. with such beloved standards as "I Got Rhythm", of George Gershwin, "Make Believe" from Showboat and "Some Enchanted Evening", from South Pacific, the audience will be treated to less familiar songs such as Victor Herbert’s novelty song "Art is Calling to Me", Kurt Weill’s "Lonely House" and "Lily’s Eyes" from The Secret Garden. A highlight will be four selections from the ground-breaking West Side Story of Leonard Bernstein and Stephen Sondheim, including "Tonight", "Maria", "A Boy Like That", and "Somewhere."
