Isley Brothers & The Commodores with Special Guest The Family Stone at Ironstone July 21st

Murphys, CA...Three of the Funkiest Soul and R&B Groups in history together on one Saturday Night in the Motherlode! With literally hundreds of millions of records sold between them, multiple Grammys and many, many incredible hits, this show promises to be a PARTY!!! Get your dancing shoes on and get on down to Ironstone! This is going to be a ONE HOT SATURDAY NIGHT!!!

Isley Brothers
3The Isley Brothers have basked in the forefront of popular music for nearly 50 years. Their incredible career has seen dozens of #1 hits, both singles, and albums; more than two dozen gold, platinum and multi-platinum singles and albums; countless awards; and the Brothers’ induction into The Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame (in 1992). What’s even more remarkable –and further indication of the Isleys’ lasting cultural significance –is how they’ve reinvented themselves with each passing year, thus consistently reaping a fresh crop of fans. They are a bridge between today’s most vital pop artists and the soul greats who brought the music out of the church and into mass consciousness. Acknowledging their place in history, Ronald Isley says: “I knew Sam Cooke and Jackie Wilson and The Temptations. I knew their intimate thoughts on music, and I knew them as friends. The Isley Brothers are in a unique place now because we possess that repository of knowledge, and we carry it on through our new material. Ernie and I understand what a tremendous opportunity and responsibility that is, how special that is. The Lord has truly blessed us, and we continue to be led to a greater place.”Through this calling, the Isleys have influenced myriad artists. Contemporary R&B and hip-hop stars have frequently paid them tribute by sampling and covering their material. “We’re beyond old school,” Ernie jokes. “We’ve become an institution –I think we must be at the university level by now! The Beatles, Aaliyah, Biggie Smalls, Ice Cube, Whitney Houston, Public Enemy, Bone Thugs and all the other people who’ve mined our catalog –they’ve come through Isley University. And we, in turn, embrace everyone who has recognized our work and honored us this way.”

The Commodores
For three decades, the Commodores have remained a force in the music industry. The Commodores aren’t just any group. They have staying power. Just like their hit song “Brick House,” the Commodores have created a foundation that just won’t budge. After churning out hit after hit in the Motown days, the Commodores still hadn’t achieved Grammy recognition. This wasn’t to be until 1986, without Lionel Richie, when the Commodores released “Nightshift”.

In 1968 the group was formed while all the members were in college at Tuskeegee University. After being discovered by Berry Gordy, the Commodores went on to sell over 60 million records for Motown. With hits like “Machine Gun” and “Sail On,” the Commodores became proven artists. They proved it then. They proved it in 1986 with “Nightshift,” and now they are ready to prove it again.

Unlike many other groups, the Commodores haven’t rested on their early hits. Quite the contrary, the Commodores have continued to put out quality work. With the creation of their new label, the Commodores released Commodores Hits Vol. I, Commodores Hits Vol. II, Commodores Christmas, and Commodores XX – No Tricks. The newest CD “Commodores Live” was recorded during the groups 1997 U.S. tour and released in December 1998 along with a TV special. The Commodores believe in their work, but they are not the only ones:

The successful Commodores of the present have not only produced six new albums and embarked upon a world-wide tour, but have created their own record label, Commodores Records & Entertainment. Today the Commodores stand not only as talented and successful musicians but as artists determined to continue their success into the future.

The Family Stone
Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductees, R&B Pioneer Award Winners, and original founding members of Sly & The Family Stone; Jerry Martini and Greg Errico, together part of the first inter-racial inter-gender, main-stream major band in Rock & Roll history bring you the chart-topping hits of Sly & The Family Stone.

Legendary Anthems like “I Want to Take You Higher,” “Everyday People,”
“Thank You Falettinme Be Mice Elf Agin,“ “Dance To The Music,“ “Hot Fun In The Summertime,“ “Family Affair,“ “Sing a Simple Song,“ and many other instantly recognizable tunes from their vast catalog of albums including the album “STAND“ which in 2015, was declared a National Treasure, preserved in The United States Library of Congress. In 2015, “STAND“ was also inducted into The Grammy Hall of Fame.

Event occurs on 07/21/2018 from 07:00 PM to .
