The Latest MET Team Eradications for 9-19-18 & 9-20-18

West Point, CA..On September 19, 2018 members of the Calaveras County Sheriff’s Office Marijuana Enforcement Team served a search warrant for illegal marijuana cultivation at an address on Acorn Way in West Point. Several outbuildings at this property near the main residence had been converted for marijuana processing/drying and several bunkhouse living quarters had been constructed. 225 large marijuana plants were eradicated from the site.

Three subjects were arrested at this location for Illegal Marijuana Cultivation 11358(c)H&S, Maintaining/Operating a Drug House/Location 11366H&S, and Criminal Conspiracy 182PC. Kevin Nguyen (33 year old male with Rhode Island identification), Dung Le (57 year old male from Texas), and Ourn San (53 year old male with Massachusetts identification) were all booked into the Calaveras County Jail with $100,000 bail. Additionally, Ourn San was booked for an outstanding extraditable no bail warrant from Alabama for narcotics related charges.

On September 20, 2018 MET Team members served two more unrelated search warrants for illegal marijuana cultivation on Blossom Lane in Railroad Flat. At the first location, multiple uncovered hoop houses were found with growing marijuana as well as other areas of cultivation with plants in various stages of growth. No subjects were found at this site. 3330 marijuana plants were eradicated and approx. 589 lbs. of processed marijuana was seized. The investigation into this site and those responsible is continuing.

At the second location down the street, also on Blossom Lane, two subjects were detained upon deputies’ arrival. A motorhome and numerous electrical cords running to various equipment were found around a marijuana grow site. 619 marijuana plants were eradicated from this location. Connor Su (50 year old male from Sacramento) and Nhat Ngo (61 year old male from Elk Grove) were booked into the Calaveras County Jail for Illegal Marijuana Cultivation 11358(c)H&S, Possession for Sale of Marijuana 11359H&S, Maintaining/Operating a Drug House/Location 11366H&S, and Criminal Conspiracy 182PC. Both subjects were booked into the Calaveras County Jail and their bail amounts is still pending.

All cases are still under active investigation. No further information is available at this time.

That is an illegal pot grow with someone stashing large amounts of cash. Where's there's large amounts of cash, there's usually illegal arms. Let's see, bags of cash and illegal guns (because pot growers and users can't have guns)? What does that equal? Shootings.

Merita Giveaway wants more of this crap. Don't believe her assurances. District 3 is still recovering from her 22 years of nothing positive done. She can't list one single positive accomplishment. She is for completely expanded and unregulated commercial growing. Just look at her record. What she will tell you is "regulation, control, sensible, strict." What you get is anything but. EEEEWW!

Stop putting the majority of Californians in a box and twisting everything into some b.s. ramble. You are the minority now get over it. Folk that chose to use marijuana can legally and it does work medicinally read some real news for once. These grows have nothing to do with the lot of us. What you say is offensive to someone with a crippling disabling disease where cannabis is the only thing that actually works. Well only one could be so lucky such as yourself to not have to try other forms of therapy when a doctors prescription fails time and time again. Maybe tomorrow you can wake up and be blessed with a severe neurological disorder-disease and enjoy the ride. Neurological= the brain figured you might need help with that one.

You can always leave, it's california love it or leave it. Pretty simple right?

If you need (or even want) marijuana, you can have it. No one is saying you can't. Are you confusing Prop. 64 with commercial cultivation? Maybe you should leave if you don't like things. How do you like that? We're fine.

Hey get a quote from the D2 Pro-Pot Sup Garamendi its in his back yard -- He's the mathematician that has figured out how the County profits from Cannabis? He keeps that formula looked up like the Coke recipe - never seen daylight. Why because there are zero profits from this foolish, disruptive experiment. Something BS Big Mike and the Calaveras Sweetheart Callaway need to be schooled on! Hey schools back in session, I think this is about 8th grade math. Lets make both of them re-peat the 8th Grade. . .

Keep it up sheriff, eventually you will get them all. Hold landowners responsible, lean their properties if they refuse to pay the penalties and for the eventual clean up. If costs aren't recovered after 1 year take ownership of the properties and sell them to cover costs, it can be done. The good citizens of this county will appreciate it in the end. We don't need pot to survive! I recently donated a small amount of money to Central Fire, I would do the same if the sheriff would just ask, so would others, we want our county back from these creep growers and dealers.

Are you kidding trying to a regulate and monitor this industry is what opened the door to this criminal element. It has been proven in multiple county's that when you open the door to regulate commercial marijuana the criminals flood in. This is why so many County's who thought they were going to make money (just like Calaveras) by allowing Commercial marijuana have decided to ban. Calaveras couldn't even enforce the regulations we had in place on the registered legal growers much less the criminal element that came with that.

You are correct in that the supes who thought the urgency ordinance was a good plan laid out the welcome mat for all of this. Calaveras Co. was promoted in all the Cannabis publications as welcoming to all pot growers with the best climate etc for growing. So they flocked here in the belief that everyone wanted them even though they did not apply for permits, and now they do not wish to leave. Anyone flying over the county will see fields of green all over. Fly over the rivers that are our boundaries, and the green fields are not there because neither Amador of Tuolumne Co. laid out the welcome mat

"Regulated and Monitored" is a load of marijuana-speak. We tried "regulation." Monitored means Track and Trace where the data is input, by you guessed it, pot growers. Where's the checks and balances? None. Where's the assurance of pure product? None. Where's the marijuana-related violent crime? Here because a few were too antsy to properly investigate this sham. Only Oliveira wanted to wait and did not vote for the UO. Smart representative.

Banners should not be talking about whats legal. The Ban is illegal and was illegally implemented by the Board of Supervisors. Wake up, banners you are the minority here and your going to loose. It happens every election and its soon we will tighten things up so good you all won’t ever have a foot to do anything like this again. You couldn’t pass the ban 3 times by vote or desire of the majority of people in Calaveras.
Then the county legally passed measure C to permanently regulate and tax Cannabis. There is no legal way one can interpret this citizens crafted measure to mean a Ban. Ask te author? The only way this can be undone is by a measure on the Ballot for a Ban. Hasn’t happened 3x. Instead Mills and Clyde started saying because the word regulate was in Measure C that they could implement a Ban. So not true legally. The measure Cleary implies production of product to tax and nothing to do with a Ban. Then Tonelefi jumped on board with Mills and Clyde and here we are as a county. At least the Board of Supervisors are finally under investigation for whats going on Calaveras and its only a mattet of time. And Good thing for checks and balances, there is always a public record especially of government positions because they require more accountability.
