MTMC Places PINK Top of Mind In Honor of Breast Cancer Awareness

San Andreas, CA – September 24, 2018-According to the dictionary, PINK is a shade of color between red and white. But during the month of October the color PINK has become to symbolize the power, strength and courage of those on a breast cancer journey and the importance of early detection programs. MTMC is bringing this meaning of PINK to the fore front with many planned activities and displays of support for breast cancer survivors, those who care and love them, and early detection.

PAYING TRIBUTE AND IMPROVING AWARENESS
The corner of Hwy 49 and Mountain Ranch Road in San Andreas will feature pink ribbons in a show of support empower, support and encouragement of all who have been impacted by breast cancer. The ribbons were decorated by MTMC Foundation Volunteers who spent hours embellishing them with glitter so, like those who they represent, bring a sparkle and smile when seen.

Friday Night Lights and our community football programs will turn PINK as players, coaches and community show support and promote early detection of breast cancer. Look for PINK ribbons on player’s helmets, PINK accessories on coaches and cheer squads, and pay attention during game breaks to catch a commemorative PINK football thrown to crowds by the squad.

PROVIDING MAMMOGRAMS
Research has shown that annual mammograms for women lead to the early detection of breast cancer when the cancer is most curable and breast conservation therapies are most effective. MTMC’s radiology department performs over three-thousand mammography screenings annually and in an effort to aid busy women fit a life-saving screening into their busy routine will be offering evening mammography appointments throughout the month of December. Prior to securing a mammography appoint, women must secure a physician’s order. Call 209-754-2517 for mammography appointments. Call 209.754.2968 if you need to establish care with a physician.

IMPROVING EDUCATION AND SELF CARE FOR WOMAN
Thursday, October 4th MTMC will host general surgeon, Eldo Frezza, MD, as he presents a workshop on Women’s Breast Health. The Breast Health workshop will be held from 11:30 am to 1:00 pm. Lunch will be provided.

Nurse Practitioners, Linda Colliflower, NP and Denise Mordue, NP will share their knowledge and experience regarding women’s health on Tuesday October 30th from 11am to 12pm. Both women are experts in women’s health and bring their professional and personal experience to the subject.

MTMC Places PINK Top of Mind In Honor of Breast Cancer Awareness

Both workshops are part of MTMC’s ongoing “A Plan for Me” – a series of free health and lifestyle
planning workshops designed to empower individuals to achieve greater health. All workshops require
reservations and space is limited. To reserve your spot call 209-754-5919.
