I've always thought of it as the Mason-Dixon Line of the County.

It’s not only “flat landers” I drive it every day and locals are even worse; think they know the road and drive way too fast.

Thank you for posting. The reality is almost every accident that has happened near or about Poole Station Road in the past few years has involved residents.

How much you want to bet it'll turn out to be a local as in most past accidents at this location?

Meanwhile, dead trees are falling across Sheep Ranch Road, Murphys in the wind. Who owns? Whose responsibility before someone is killed? While the county and you figure it out, we locals are clearing a path for vehicles.

Vehicle manufacturers are bragging how light they are making vehicles...even trucks. Now almost every accident the vehicles overturn. Plastic everything on the vehicles, even paint. Metal as thin, or thinner than a tuna can. I have seen a small compact car overturn a big suv when rear ending it. This should never be happening. And yes the drivers are at fault, but the vehicles should not be overturning and landing on their roofs.

In the picture, snapped in the darkness of a Wilton vineyard, Jack Kautz crouches behind a dead buck, smiling as he holds up the animal's head by its freakishly large set of antlers.

It was a buck for the record books with sprawling antlers about an arm's width apart. If Katuz 52, had been had been able to claim it is a official trophy, he could have added it to his long list of accomplishments detailed on the website of his family's Lodi grape growing business, Ironstone Vineyards.

Next up on the Kautz bucket list - developing the fields on Bret Harte Drive behind the chain link. The ones many of us used to walk our dogs in by the creek. Murphys is going to look like a mini Oakland soon, but the good news is everyone can walk to town to drink and not risk a DUI.
