Major Injuries to Drivers & Moderate to Passengers in DUI Head on Collision on Hwy 4
Vallecito, CA...Aranabrajas was driving westbound on State Route 4, west of Batten Road. Marzi was traveling eastbound on State Route 4, approaching Aranabrajas Dodge Ram pickup. Due to his level of intoxication, he allowed his pickup to travel into the eastbound lane. The front of the Dodge collided head-on with the Chevy. This collision caused Dodge to overturn once, coming to rest back on its wheels on the south shoulder of the roadway. V-2 traveled off the south side of the roadway and came to rest at the bottom of a dirt embankment.
Aranabrajas was arrested at the scene for felony driving while under the influence of an alcoholic beverage causing injuries.
Aranabrajas was released from custody for medical care and charges will be filed with the Calaveras County District Attorneys office.
