Ebbetts & Sonora Passes to Close Ahead of Incoming Storm

Alpine & Tuolumne Counties...Caltrans District 10 tentatively plans to close Ebbetts Pass (State Route 4) at 3 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 20, and Sonora Pass (State Route 108) at noon Wednesday, Nov. 21. Those times are subject to change, and could be impacted by the behavior of the weather. These are NOT the long-term, seasonal closures that Caltrans implements annually on our mountain passes.

This is in preparation for a potential heavy storm coming to Northern California later this week. There are no expected opening times yet, as that is weather-dependent as well.

Please check http://quickmap.dot.ca.gov and/or call 1 (800) 427-ROAD for up-to-the-minute information on road conditions like closures, chain controls and road work.

Thank you, and please be safe out there!

Passes to Close?

Wonder why the title says the passes "will" close, when the article says Caltrans District 10 "tentatively" plans to close Ebbetts Pass, depending on the weather.

Nazis took guns away from the people. Stifled their speech. Did not allow free and fair voting. Democrats are modern-day Nazis. #VoteThemOut2020

I do not get why people slather over the obvious Liberal Progressive Socialist Marxist Democrats along with the Republicans In Name Only who only want to destroy our Constitution, remove all of our Creator Given Rights and put 100% total control over everything into the greedy hands of the government! WTF is wrong with these people? #VoteThemOut2020
