Local "Veteran" Ski Racers Tear it Up at the NASTAR Nationals in Steamboat Springs!
Steamboat Springs, CO...North America’s fastest recreational skiers and snowboarders descended on Steamboat Springs, Colorado, for the Nature Valley NASTAR National Championships this last weekend. More than 1,300 racers vied for the top spots in the multi-day event. The racers must qualify by earning a top-three ranking in their age division at any of the 120 NASTAR qualifiers throughout North America...
Bear Valley's Mark Phillips took the weekend off from Managing the Bear Valley Lodge to ski to a Platinum 4th Place Finish in the 55-59 age group. Arnold's Jere Foutz sped through the gates to a Platinum 6th Place Finish in the 60-64 age group.
Congratulations Guys!! It proves that not only Bear Valley Kids can race. The "Old Guys" really do rule!
When we last spoke with Mark he was getting all of his equipment ready for the NASTAR Nationals....He was, however, a little unsure about climbing back into a Lycra speed suit! Maybe when he returns he will be so gracious enough to give us a photo op!
