Major Injuries to San Jose Woman in Snowmobile Collision near Hermit Valley

Lake Alpine, CA...Woodman was operating a rental snowmobile westbound on SR-4, west of Hermit Valley, on a groomed snowmobile trail. She had a 14-year-old male passenger, and was riding in tandem with another snowmobiler in front of her. The snowmobile operator riding in front of her slowed to check on a stopped snowmobile on the right side of the trail. She attempted to also slow, but instead accelerated. She moved to the left to avoid hitting her riding partner, and rode off the trail into a tree. Both she and her passenger were ejected from the snowmobile, and she sustained major injuries. A CalFire helicopter responded to the scene and extricated her. The helicopter flew her to Bear Valley Ski Resort, where a Cal Star helicopter picked her up and transported her to Sutter Roseville Hospital.

Her passenger was transported by ground to Sonora Regional Medical Center. Alcohol or reckless operation do not appear to be factors in this collision.

Not good at all. Been out there several times and attention is very important. Speed is serious business and trees are deadly.

About Your Tax Returns and the Shut Down:
Everybody got paid before. Everybody got their Return but a tad late. Everybody came out alive. Didn't your Parents always tell you to save for hard times? Yeah think about those words your Parents tried to tell you but you did not want to listen to. Now go be a good responsible Adult and stop your crying.

Wow think of the bill for the medi flights. -$15-20,000 at least.
Lesson- any person new to operating a sno machine should spend 15 minutes starting, stopping. Becoming familiar with the machine. Only people that spent the training time, can operate the machines.

People here can be rude and insensitive. They also forget that much of the Route 4 economy is dependent on visitors. Prayers for the health and well-being of your family members and loved ones.
