Cherished Saddle Returned to Local Family

Sonora, CA....From the Tuolumne Sheriff's Dept...."This long-awaited reunion warms our hearts and reminds us of the positive things people do to help our office. Last week, Sgt. Jeff Hunt got a phone call from the Engler family who reported that they saw their grandpa’s stolen saddle for sale online. The saddle is very unique: it was branded and engraved by the saddle maker with the family insignia.

The saddle was stolen in 2003 from the family’s barn. 16 years later the saddle turned up. It was listed and sold at an auction house in Idaho. The company was unaware the saddle was stolen and was very helpful in returning it to the Engler family. The saddle has a special place in their hearts. Grandpa passed away, so the Engler family was very thankful to get the family heirloom back to treasure for many years to come."
