Countywide Calaveras Alert Test on May 2nd.

San Andreas, CA – On Thursday, May 2, 2019 at 10 A.M. the Calaveras County Office of Emergency Management (OEM) will be performing a system wide test of the Calaveras Alert Emergency Notification System. We would like to remind everyone that this is just a TEST. OEM is encouraging all residents to sign up for Calaveras Alert today at: https://member.everbridge.net/index/892807736729028#/login

The Calaveras Alert Emergency Notification system is only as good as the information it contains. When registering for Calaveras Alert, residents can include landline, cell phone, e-mail and text message information. Please be aware that Calaveras Alert is only able to alert addresses within Calaveras County. If your primary residence is outside of Calaveras County, be sure to enter your Calaveras County address, otherwise you may not be notified in an emergency. All residents and businesses should register, especially those who use a cellular phone number as their primary number.

Calaveras Alert is used to notify residents of emergencies that require them to take some type of protective action, for example evacuating or sheltering in place. There are many other tools and apps to receive notifications, such as press releases of law enforcement activity, weather alert information, utility company alerts, etc. You must sign up separately for each if you wish to receive information from different agencies.

Calaveras County Office of Emergency Management would like to remind everyone to actively participate in emergency preparedness in their home and in their community.
