Another Round of Illegal Marijuana Grow Eradications

Glencoe, CA...On May 14, 2019, members of the Calaveras County Sheriff’s Office Marijuana Enforcement Team served a search warrant for illegal marijuana cultivation at a residence in the 16000 block of Hwy 26, Glencoe. Investigators located two greenhouses set up for growing marijuana; each approximately 30’ X100’ cultivation. Deputies seized 424 marijuana plants and 61 pounds of processed marijuana. Suspect Luc Cam (49 years of age Glencoe) was arrested on scene and booked into the Calaveras County Jail. He was charged with 11358(c) H&S-Illegal Marijuana Cultivation, 11366 H&S-Maintaining a Drug House and 182(a)(1)PC-Criminal Conspiracy. Bail was set at $30,000.00. He was also booked on a felony warrant out of Stockton, CA . The charges listed on the warrant were 11358(c) H&S-Illegal Marijuana Cultivation, 11359 H&S Possession of Marijuana for sale and 498(D) PC theft of utilities. Bail for the warrant is $50,000.00.

Calaveras County Code Enforcement was requested to respond due to multiple county code violations including dangerous and illegal wiring in the dry grass.
This is the second search warrant served at this property in the past year. In October of 2018 an Illegal marijuana cultivation operation was located on this property where hundreds of marijuana plants and pounds of processed marijuana were seized. Two suspects were arrested and two firearms were seized. The two suspects located on the property in 2018 were found guilty of illegal marijuana cultivation.

San Andreas, CA...On May 15, 2019, members of the Calaveras County Sheriff’s Office Marijuana Enforcement Team served a search warrant for illegal marijuana cultivation at a residence in the 4000 block of Costa Rd, San Andreas. Investigators located two greenhouses each approximately 30’ X100’ and a large metal shop set up for growing marijuana. Deputies seized 2,412 marijuana plants and 184 pounds of processed marijuana. No suspects were found at the location.

Calaveras County Code Enforcement was requested to respond due to multiple county code violations including dangerous unpermitted electrical work and illegal wiring in the dry grass causing a fire hazard. The shop and related wiring was determined to be unsafe due to the hazardous electrical work.

The two clandestine growing operations were indicative of illicit commercial operations and not in compliance with any medical or recreational cultivation. The Calaveras County Sheriff’s Office encourages anyone with information on illegal marijuana cultivation sites or sites manufacturing concentrated cannabis to call the Sheriff’s Marijuana Tip Line at (209) 754-6870.

The fair, 4H and the FFA are evil? Some may agree that our way of life is changing but you, my friend, need some serious health care and meds.

So, the fair brings in a significant amount of revenue to the county and you have a problem with that? This week's weather must have been a wet dream for you.

Here's what the kids in FFA did. Some steers went for $7 lb
While Porky and Petunia went as high as $15 lb
            WTG for those kids.
and for Grumpy READ IT AND WEEP
''“Our attendance was down by about 11,000, due to the weather, but we still had close to 20,000 people at the fairgrounds,” she enthuses. “Only in Calaveras County could you have 20,000 fairgoers in pouring down rain — so we are proud to be part of the community…and of the job we did collectively together.”

She also says there appears to be a flood of interest already for the coming go-round, as many of the participating vendors have already signed up and made their deposits for next year’s fair.''

''While this year’s Junior Livestock auction had 40 less lots, she effuses, “It did $10,000 more – it did $620,000 — and the Replacement Heifer and Ag Mechanic sales were also up.”

So yippee, I'll be selling a lot more of my home grown to the bikers and flatlander when they come up next year. It's always nice to have an extra income planned in advance.

What drug arrests or breaking and entering? Please document. What I saw were a lot of families appreciating a way of life that doesn't exist in many places anymore. And a whole lot of quality young people eager and enthusiastic to share their animals and answer questions to even the littlest of visitors. Guess I should know by now never to take anyone who "speaks" in all bold type seriously.

Easy there, big fella. We have law enforcement and fire fighters in our family and have never heard a complaint. Speaking only for my own, they're grateful to live in a community like ours and that still has kids committed to 4H and FFA. As far as all those statistics you're quoting, they spend more time dealing with domestic issues and those under the influence on the other side of the county.

Were you a fair board member that was "asked" to step down. Because the ones I know have served for years while continually welcoming new volunteers. Can't tell if you've ever really been a part of the fair community or are simply making shiz up.

Who would have guessed that this would be the outcome from a ban? Like playing wack-a-mole. How long can the SO budget last without any significant sources of revenue? While we could have been collecting on legitimate, registered sites. Shaking my head, Calaveras. Or as my grandma would've said - like cutting off your nose to spite your face.

Stop with your lies. Everyone knows pot growing has been here since the beginning of time. It would be here regardless, even if you were allowed to grow it commercially. The law enforcement always eradicated it when found. The difference now is that there are many more people on earth, and many more doing things against the law. Many more people around to tip off the law enforcement so it can be removed from their neighborhoods.

"They" can and they should, but they don't. We do not have anyone smart enough to be able to do that in the county offices, or they are paid off not to take the property. I think the county government needs investigated.
