552 Marijuana Plants Eradicated from Mountain Ranch Grow Site

Mountain Ranch, CA) On May 8, 2019 members of the Calaveras County Sheriff’s Office Marijuana Enforcement Team served a search warrant for illegal marijuana cultivation at a property located in the 200 block of Old Prospector Trail, Mountain Ranch. Investigators located marijuana growing in three greenhouses, seized 381 marijuana plants and one rifle. The case remained active with investigators conducting additional follow-up investigations.

On July 2nd 2019 the Calaveras County Sheriff’s Office Marijuana Enforcement Team served another search warrant for illegal marijuana cultivation at the same property (200 block of Old Prospector Trail, Mountain Ranch). During the service of the search warrant another outdoor marijuana operation was located. Investigators discovered three (3) greenhouse use to grow marijuana. A total of 552 marijuana plants were seized.

County Code Enforcement and Environmental Health were advised of multiple code and health violations including unpermitted/hazardous electrical work and raw sewage being dumped onto the ground. No suspects were found at the location.

The clandestine growing operation was indicative of an illicit commercial operation and not in compliance with any medical or recreational cultivation. The investigation is ongoing.

The Calaveras County Sheriff’s Office encourages anyone with information on potentially illegal marijuana cultivation sites or sites manufacturing concentrated cannabis to call the Sheriff’s Marijuana Tip Line at (209) 754-6870.

You idiots. I am in support of farming and cannabis cultivation but you deserve to get busted, due to total disregard for everyone in the county. Remember the fire!

All cannabis cultivations need to be regulated with state regulations and probably should only be permitted indoors

I disagree with your only indoors b.s. only growing indoors is much more dangerous in all aspects. Research it, and not everyone can afford an expensive grow room for 6 person plants let alone medicinal grows.
Grow your vegetables indoors also then if it's so...much better. Lol! Jack off.

Ban all. Put the men to work.
Leave the growing to Beyer and all the pharmaceutical companies. The only way to regulate. The poor mamas soy boy has no business. Got mop floors like the grandpa before you. It takes a little less common sense.

Not here. First, we don't have adequate water to regulate - even in a good snowpack year. Second, we don't have the means or resources to adequately administer any kind of regulation. Don't be hoodwinked by Callaway's condescending double speak.

Outdoor would be ok if regulated and expe sive permits and tax to operate. The more that is available the less value it is worth. All crime surrounding pot will go away with low values. There will be a new ordinance soon

A new regulation ordinance here is patently a mistake - and it cannot happen soon. A new EIR is actually required to even begin. Plus who are we doing favors to? Small growers cannot even sustain themselves with California's regulatory status. It's a lose-lose situation for them. If they haven't gotten out of commercial growing by now, they aren't paying attention.

How about you check the County code. Me? I'll stick to CEQA which supersedes county codes. Need proof? Court rulings handed down regarding various commercial marijuana's challenges to CEQA show that Neg Decs and exemptions are a no gaming option. No piggybacking or tiering either. Want more? Things just got a whole lot more interesting after July 1.

This is Alice Montgomery. You bet I agree with most of what Todd Fordahl has stated regarding commercial marijuana. While he was Angels Camp's Chief of Police, he had a unique vantage point to see what consequences commercial marijuana operations foisted on his city. (Remember the rigged electrical wiring, the butane canisters dumped at the high school, and more?) In my opinion, he utilized a truthful and balanced approach, which can be threatening to folks who can't or won't follow laws, rules, or regulations.

That's all the BOS is thinking about, how much money they can make off this DOPE. Thanks to the Proposition 64 loophole they can create grow sites and market dope which would land any private citizen in jail under racketeering and dealing charges.

So let's call the Board what they truly are, drug racketeers and drug dealers. Unsurprisingly, exactly like their fellows, they exhibit absolutely no remorse in putting our welfare and public safety at risk.

Thank you Enforcement. This grow is the usual trifecta: unsafe, harmful to the environment, and a health hazard - especially with raw sewage discharged. What a huge waste of effort, resources, and time Calaveras County growers who want regulations here, are expending. They cannot make a decent living growing marijuana commercially in the State of California. The State of California has crafted regulations designed to benefit large scale corporations and financially independent investors such as those from the entertainment industry (Belushi), the pro sports world (Montana) and tech (Benchmark Capital). Do not blame the BOS or anyone else for not making money as a small grower. Rethink, retool, and reboot.

Indoor growing utilized an excessive amount of energy and sends pollutants into our water system. Outdoor growing attracts crime, also uses a sh-- ton of water, and "amendments" and pollutes. Still the small growers are required to jump through all the same hoops as the larger growers who can leverage. It's a no-win financial situation for small growers here.

Clyde Clapp discharged lots of raw sewage at his illegal unpermitted rentals. Because he was for a ban, Alice and Steven pretended he could do no wrong. Child and spousal abuse, did time for dealing - totally okay with them. He could never pass a background check. Which is probably why he was opposed to regulation.

County code records, court documents from the counties where the complaints originated and a long history of their social media posts. I'm not a spokesperson, but reporting what they have said repeatedly.

It's all in the public record. Forgot to mention the pending financial elder abuse case too. That dear old man, Mr Zamora passed away without a resolution to the case where-in Clapp swindled him. Mr Zamora's heirs are continuing the fight for justice. But the banners, they just love old dishonest abusive Clyde
