U.S. Newsroom Employment Dropped 25% Since 2008, Newspapers Down 47%
Washington, DC...From Pew Research..."Newsroom employment across the United States continues to decline, driven primarily by job losses at newspapers. And even though digital-native news outlets have experienced some recent growth in employment, they have added too few newsroom positions to make up for recent losses in the broader industry."
Many articles have been published lately that have highlighted that local newspapers have led the declines in many areas. There are now a significant number of U.S. Counties without local news outlets.
We hope to help to reverse these trends and start hiring in next few months at our local news outlets.
