Over 2,500 Death Ride Cyclists Closing Hwy 4 over Ebbetts Pass Tomorrow.
Bear Valley, CA...Hwy 4 over Ebbetts Pass will be closed from 5am to 3pm July 13th for Car & Truck traffic. It will however have over 2,500 human powered vehicles filling the roadways for the cardio insanity, lactic acid inducing, road rash filled, sadomasochism festival known as the Death Ride. It's 129 miles & 15,000 feet of climbing that draws riders from all over the world to see if they can get their "5 Pass" sticker. Yes we humans are a strange bunch. Even though the event won't get any closer to us than Hermit Valley the Bear Valley community helps man and woman the Hermit Valley aid station that helps get the riders refueled, repaired and the kinks worked out before they head back up to the Ebbetts Pass Summit.
