Governor Newsom Announced Executive Clemency 8.7.19

Sacramento, CA...Governor Gavin Newsom announced that he has granted seven pardons. People who have been convicted of a crime in California may apply to the Governor for a pardon. The California Constitution gives the Governor the authority to grant clemency. A pardon does not minimize past conduct; it recognizes a person’s subsequent progress and accomplishments. A pardon does not expunge or erase the conviction.

By granting these pardons to people who are transforming their lives, the Governor is seeking to remove barriers to employment and public service, restore civic rights and responsibilities and prevent unjust collateral consequences of conviction.

The Governor weighs numerous factors in his review, including the applicant’s self-development and conduct since the offense and whether the grant is consistent with public safety and in the interests of justice. Those granted pardons today all completed their prison sentences years ago.

When a pardon is granted, the California Department of Justice and the Federal Bureau of Investigation are notified so that they may update their records on the applicant. The pardon is filed with the Secretary of State and the Legislature and is a public record.

Copies of the gubernatorial pardons granted today can be found here.

Additional information on executive clemency can be found here.

Another example of soft democrats! Once a criminal always a criminal, we should not do them any favors. If they have cleaned up their lives great but you should never be rewarded for crime in any way.

At my old age I can say I have never been arrested 'cause I don't commit crimes. Wonder if it's because I never smoked pot or did any other drugs? 'Geez, maybe that's it?

You commit a murder, well there is a chance you will do it again.
You rob someone, well again same as above.
      You rape someone, well?
      You hit a women, well?
      You abuse a child, well?
You steal, oh yeah, you will do it again, especially if you are a druggie!
Keep 'em locked up and crime will go down. Eliminate druggies and crime will go down.

Newsom is a poster child for a Pajama Boy. They must have wiped the drool of his chin for the pic.

I was gonna say for the "shot" but I didn't want to trigger (oops) the libs out there.

Hm! That's not a bad strategy except they can't vote. So let's get back to the drawing board.

>> And we won’t even get started on guns!

>> Only in California, It’s against the law,
>>
>>
>>
>>
>> OK, let’s get this straight. In CA It's against the law for a restaurant to offer me a plastic straw but it's ok for Starbucks to serve drinks in a plastic cup and it's OK for me to use plastic Keurig coffee pods and buy tons of plastic water bottles.
>>
>> It’s against the law for a grocery store to give me a micro-thin plastic bag for free, but it’s OK for them to sell me a plastic bag for a few pennies that is 20 times as thick.
>>
>> CA is going to fine citizens billions a year for not having health insurance and paying for their own medical care, but they are going to provide free health care/insurance for those in the country illegally.
>>
>> In CA we provide driver's license to people in the country illegally, and you can list your sex as “X”, but I have to bring my original birth certificate, social security card, and two utility bills to get my Real CA driver's license so I can use it to board a plane since the Federal government no longer recognizes regular CA licenses.
>>
>> It’s OK for a homeless person to build a house next to the river out of plywood and tarps on property they don't own, but I have to pull a permit and pay fees to have an inspection if I do something as simple as replacing a window on my own property.
>>
>> In San Francisco they provide free Safe Drug Centers for heroin addicts to shoot up under nurse supervision and provide new needles (also plastic), but it's going to be against the law for adults to Vape.
>> In San Francisco it's OK to poop on the street but it's against the law to spit.
>>
>> California requires immunizations for its citizens but not for illegal aliens, so a bunch of eradicated illnesses are coming back and they don't care about those either.
>>
>> Also, you will be fined if your dog poops and you don't clean it up; but you poop on the sidewalk, it's OK !
>>
>> Welcome to Californication.

Yep, we live in a dump. It won't be getting any better soon. Many of my friends and family, descendants of the first Californians, have already had to move out of state. I'm still looking for my destination...what about you? The taxes and costs, with more to come, are breaking the backs of what was once the middle class in California.

Very true and perfect analogy. Thank you. It all just seems so unreal, like a bad dream. Absolutely crazy what is happening.

Started before this man. He was never taught ethics, morals, sacrifice. Same as when they started hand out participation trophy’s. That’s when it all was lost. No Winner and a Loser. Right and wrong. Now we taught everything equal. Everyone gets a fourth chance. It’s a complete loss.
