The Stanfill Family Raising Funds After Death of Steven Stanfill

Markleeville, CA...We are sorry we did not report on this earlier. We receive some press releases from the Tahoe CHP Office but not all....On gofundme from Haley Stanfill. "My father passed away from a motorcycle accident. Please help us lay him to rest. Thank you. He is a loving father and husband." About the incident from South Lake Tahoe CHP..."On September 28, 2019, at approximately 3:18 PM, CHP was dispatched to a collision that occurred on SR-4 (Ebbetts Pass) 1.2 miles west of Silver Creek Campground. A 2001 Harley Davidson motorcycle was traveling westbound on SR-4 followed by a 2016 Harley Davidson motorcycle. A 2012 Subaru Forester was traveling eastbound on SR-4 approaching both motorcycles. For reasons still under investigation, the 2001 Harley Davidson and the 2012 Subaru Forester collided into each other. The rider of the 2001 Harley Davidson succumbed to his injuries.

The rider of the 2016 Harley Davidson lost control of his motorcycle, slid on the roadway and sustained minor injuries. The driver of the Subaru Forester sustained no injuries. This traffic collision investigation is still ongoing. Alcohol and/or drug use does not appear to be a factor in this traffic collision.

This was a complete accident and it was a type of accident that just cannot be explained. My father was a VERY experienced rider and this was not his first time going over the pass on his motorcycle. There are many motorcycles that go over the pass all the time. Please leave your ignorant comments to yourself and also be aware that we are mourning. - Daphne Stanfill (Steven Stanfill’s daughter)

I would also like to thank everyone else who has been supportive of our family over these heartbreaking days and those who donated toward my dads gofundme. Words cannot explain how thankful I am. I know my dad knew a lot of people and touched their lives in a positive way one way or another. The world is losing a wonderful mechanic, a great man, a loving husband, and an amazing dad. -Daphne Stanfill

Steve was a great man. A really fun guy to hang out with as well.
Arnold will be a little sadder without his smile.
          Heres to you buddy!
