New Backup Generator Now in Place for CCWD in Copperopolis

Copperopolis, CA...CCWD worked with PG&E last night to secure a backup generator for the Copperopolis Water Treatment Plant. It took until 3 a.m. Friday to get the backup generator hooked up and the plant running. Our water tanks were getting low by that point, and we need time to fill those tanks back up. We are urging all CCWD customers in Copperopolis to continue conserving water until PG&E restores power to all of Copperopolis.

Once normal power is restored and our tanks are at a safe level, we will post an update letting people know they can use water normally.

We appreciate your help getting the word out. Please call me at 209-768-6270 if you have any questions.

Keep up the good work. Whenever *bleep* hits the fan ccwd seems to always pull through. Through this whole power outage thing I have not had one interruption or water loss in copper. We all complain about the water leaks and paving but when it comes down to it I've got to say they are doing a heck of a job. It's amazing with no PG&e power that they can continue to produce water so we citizens are able to flush our toilets brush our teeth and bathe her children. Those guys out in the field are working hard and for once can we give them some kudos.

The rate increase should have had all this fixed by now.
