Calaveras Board of Supervisors Approve Commercial Cannabis Regulations

San Andreas, CA...As widely expected the Calaveras Board of Supervisors Approved Commercial Cannabis Regulations in the county. With the current makeup of the board a 3-2 vote to approve as almost assured. Needless to say this has been and remains a contentious topic. The newly approved draft of the ordinance can be viewed by clicking on the Board Photo below or the following link Snapshot-26424. This is draft language and the final resolution may have language cleaned up and changed slightly but on the whole it should be largely as below...

Here we go again 1,000's of democrats... I'm sorry, 1,000's of criminals, will be coming here again. Thank you to these 5 people.
New regulations...like a Democrat is going to give a Damn about a regulation let alone the law. OVER 70 PERCENT OF FELONS are democrats that's a FACT! Now our BOS just rang the dinner bell for them to come on over and do what you want.
If only we could kick all democrats out of the county, this would really be the perfect place to live. No leeches, no criminals, felons, rapist, murderers, pedophiles like that President named Clinton. This County has gone to hell so quickly since the first time our BOS allowed democrats to legally grow cannabis. That decision allowed all those felons to come here and take advantage of our relaxed laws and punishment of criminals. Soon democrats will be running around stealing anything and everything not locked up or nailed down. Ladies and gentlemen, this would be a good time to sit your children down and tell them, teach them about keeping their eyes open, not to trust strangers, to teach your spouse how to use a hand gun. To look at the news, to read the police reports and show them all the crimes the democrats cause.
May God be looking over your loved ones. But remember, God does NOT step in to stop them from raping your kids, your spouse, but a few well placed hollow points will.

Keep your eyes open and Bless you all (non criminals anyway)

Well, let's see. Progressives know that this "regulation" is anything but. Let's see how you think when you have guns and dogs and lights and thugs next door, because no one cam enforce. Let's see how you like it when someone starts doing Manufacturing next to your nice new Murphys home, then it explodes - because it's cheaper to use butane and these folks go for cheap. Good luck.

Calm down yourself when attack dogs trespass onto your property, thugs are here, and you cannot enjoy your own property because of the crime growers bring, no matter how good or bad they are. It's all commercial cultivation that attracts crime. You calm down. Oh wait. You're high, so you are artificially calm and impaired! Great job.

The only thing we are concerned about are some of the lunatics that use foul language, demeaning comments, and seem to be resentful of change. Our realtor told us that almost everyone looking for a house to buy are from the Bay Area so it would seem more changes are coming. Get use to it (as Trump’s acting chief of staff recently said.

We already have enough growers/dealers here that didn't like each other before and there will be more in the future plus the idiots that will come to steal plants and rob growers of their cash. There will be trouble between the growers and all of which I state will result in increasing crime in the county. This is lovely, thanks BOS. You people have no regard for those of us that do not believe as you do that cannabis will save this county financially. You BOS are a joke.

It'll be interesting to see if many of the growers actually return. Do remember Calaveras has to get in line for state permitting behind many, many other communities. We basically lost our place in line with the ban/emergency ordinance. Meanwhile, many properties owned by those who trusted the county have been abandoned or languish for sale. Would you trust this county and try again?

So as of 10/22/2019
The weed is freed plant as much as you want in Calaveras everyone!
Well as long as you can pay to play.

Right now :
With zero track and trace
In effect ( metrc the track and trace system in California is essentially voluntary right now)
all these 'legal' farms are going to Plant huge in 2020
Sell as much as possible on the black market, make millions and then abandon ship when the market tanks.

You think that that the California legal market needs more outdoor or light dep cannabis farms ?
There's already santa barbera, Monterrey, emerald triangle, Coachella valley and socal deserts, Santa Cruz, Sonoma, Nevada, placer and eldorado counties producing.
You can't legally export your flowers outside of California and by the time its decriminalized nationally to schedule 2, calaveras county will be a distant memory to those in the cannabis industry.

Are any of these calaveras farms going to have any branded product that consumers are clamoring for ? Will there be a local appellation designation along with distubution centers and dispensaries in every community in the county.
No to both these answers.

The supervisors love the idea of pot money. but arent going to actually get progressive about it. They just want the money they think it will bring in. They will appoint a cannabis director in the newly created office that will work to generate money but not support the actual industry.

Everyone knows this and plays along because they think they are going to get rich.
Classic pay to play.

Garamendi is unlikely to win D2 in 2020,and stopper will have a banster opponent. It's possible D5 will have yet another recall.

2021 it's literally going to flip flop back to a ban.

The county budget is obviously in trouble and it worked once before so why can't it work Again?

This whole thing is predicated on getting as many legal farms to register as possible. Cram em in and use the money to eradicate the neighbors who are just trying to get a slice of the pie and actually live in calaveras county.

All While turning a blind eye to those who have paid there protection money and are growing tens of thousands of plants.. cuz its 'legal'

But if your a 'legal' grower

luckily for you , you can just get some investment money on the prospect of a sheriffs dept. protected acre of weed and wing it.

1 acre =minimum 1 ton of weed, potentially A lot more if you are industrial scaled. All protected by Calaveras County residents Tax dollars paying for you to blow it up..

And as a Bonus you get to have the county use tax payer dollars to eliminate your competition. The dreaded environmental polluters and all around nasty small scale organic growers. Locals who dare to think it's okay to grow a little herb.

Who do you think is going to be bankrolling These legal farms?
Local calaveras county residents?
Big money is foaming at the mouth right now knowing how corrupt calaveras is and how easy it is to make some quick money in the next year.

Register your acre and just source a little to the legal market and then make some serious money on the rest. Pay out investors and By the time the dust settles everyone is paid and it's January 2021. if it's banned again at least you got a good rip.

1.pay to play
2.BLOW IT UP
3. Send it outta state
4>>>>profit!

Good luck and good night calaveras

      Go on...
what is an appellation to you? And how would you designate an appellation in the county?

      One zone or multiple ?

can you have an appellation with smart pots,
store bought dirt that's not really "alive"
      And salt based fertilizers?

Can you tell the difference between indoor , greenhouse and sun grown?

Most grapes are not organic, you can buy a delicious bottle of cab that was sprayed with all the noxious chemicals yet was grown in Napa.

Should cannabis appellations adhere to organic standards ? If so whose ?
Clean green certification vs D.E.M pure?

The difference in those 2 certifications when you visit the corresponding farms will be day and night.

How would you designate a cannabis appellation ?

We don’t regulate the grows and people from all over the world come to grow pot here....*bleep* on the property....kill each other...dump banned chemicals into our watershed.....all so they can make tons of money and ship their cannabis to other states. Stop trying to “school” me with your lazy contempt. Your greed has blinded you to common sense and verifiable fact. When counties and states enact and then frantically attempt to enforce strict commercial marijuana cultivation legislation, any profits that the legal stuff makes for growers and county governments gets quickly overwhelmed by taxes and fees and enforcement. It’s a vicious cycle.

I’ll try to put it in plain language that you can easily understand: our black market will increase ten fold because pot heads don’t like to pay big bucks for their “medicinal” weed. We won’t have enough money to pay that kind of enforcement, and the farmers are going to have their asses handed to them by the black market growers and dealers. Simple economics.

I don’t play golf. I hike, ski, bike, and fish, as well as vote reliably Democrat, in Calaveras County. Your ageism is a pathetic reflection of your prejudice and intractability.

“In most cases (regulation) has fueled, rather than eliminated, the black market. In Los Angeles, unlicensed businesses greatly outnumber legal ones; in Oregon, a glut of low-priced legal cannabis has pushed illegal growers to export their goods across borders into other states where it’s still illegal, leaving law enforcement overwhelmed. Three years after Massachusetts voters approved full legalization of marijuana, most of the cannabis economy consists of unlicensed “private clubs,” home growing operations and illicit sales.

Though each state has its own issues, the problems have similar outlines: Underfunded law enforcement officers and slow-moving regulators are having trouble building a legal regime fast enough to contain a high-demand product that already has a large existing criminal network to supply it.”

There-is that simple enough for you? Pot heads don’t like to pay for expensive legal weed. Law enforcement will be overwhelmed and underfunded. The black markets already have a perfectly functioning grow, process, and delivery system.

Thanks, Merita, you hypocrite. We sure appreciate all of your help with clean water and forest health for Ebbetts Pass Forest Watch. What’s that you say, Merita? Jeremy didn’t slide you enough money from Little Trees to make you care about our tourism trade, environment, or the rights of taxpaying homeowners and voters? Disgusting.

You’re not growing organic wheat in Iowa, you disingenuous hypocrite. You’re growing a water-hungry, crime-attracting, disgustingly stinky and addicting DRUG. You’re offensive “crop” is anything but innocent. You are not some sort of “farmer/hero” who’s supporting the masses with great jobs. You’re facilitating a greedy short-sighted polluting INDUSTRY.

And it is DISGUSTING and DISGRACEFUL to see how you “raise” your children on your “farms”. Filthy, barefoot, dreadlocked, feral-these poor kids are forced to participate in your greed and stupidity.

The second generation farm kids in this community are smart, kind, generous and polite. They've stood tall in the face of bigotry. Way to hate on the youth there, cranky!

That is impossible because these arenn't "family farms" or "gardens." They're marijuana grows that attract crime and a lot more now that they are co-located by the three Well Trained Fibbers. WTF!
