Very concerning

Hmm, sounds like someone dumped some highly volatile old fuel out there at the airport. Test of the soil at the ignition site? As if we don't already have enough health hazards here, years and years of human induced dumping of dangerous and poisonous substances all over the whole county.

Or another country boy mowing with a metal blade because, hey, that's what he's always done and never a problem before.

Hey Citidiot have you looked outside? It's wet and green so a mower did not start it.

Let it burn, if you know anything about what is growing there, this is the epicenter of star thistle for the county!

So true. But Star Thistle seeds are happy to lay dormant and spread further following a fire. And nothing eats it. The only way to contain this invasive weed that crowds out all the good, natural grasses is by good property management.

Property management responsibility is of great concern with the increasing fires each year in California. There was a time that owners of large properties kept downed trees cut and sold for firewood. The non native invasive star thistle needs to be addressed again and again, it can be deadly to livestock and spread easily to other properties.

Sheldon Bissell took on the issue with the county years back, but as most things, those in the offices and elected who are transplants ignore and poo poo the long time locals.

      RIP Sheldon.

And thank you Terry (his daughter)

That education can be found at the county farm advisors office and the ag. extention of UC Davis.
