Calaveras Animals Services Seizes 47 Animals From Copperopolis Home

Copperopolis, CA...On Thursday February 20, 2020, Animal Services responded to the 700 block of Uncle Billy Co. in Copperopolis for a complaint of a large amount of animals in poor living conditions. Upon arrival, officers found approximately 47 animals in the residence, with no water available to them.

The house was red-tagged b, Calaveras County Code Enforcement for, among other issues, not having water connected. Animal Services proceeded to seize all of the animals, which are currently in our care.

We would like to thank all agencies involved.

but but but all of my highly trained, in the field at a moment's notice, full-time, dedicated employees took time off at the same time. I can only guess it was because of the registered invitations they all received for the Pulitzer Prize Awards. Yeah...yeah that's the ticket.....they're all gone because of the Pulitzer Awards ceremony, that's just how good we are!

You have no idea what you are talking about. There are only a handful of staff for a county this size. If one officer has to head to say Wallace or Dorrington, that's pretty much their day. If more would care for their animals adequately including spaying and neutering, we wouldn't have these issues. It has absolutely nothing to do with the training or quality of employees. Don't get angry with an underfunded, minimally staffed department as much as local hoarders and animal collectors.

No, this is a different case than the horses. This just happened a few days ago and relevant to overcrowding at our shelter. Animal Services just can't seem to catch a break thanks to local hillbillies who think you can't tell them how to take care of their animals.

What kind of animals? This is where our intrepid Cub reporter should develop his journalistic instincts and call animal control and asked them, then update his story
