Kaylee Sedler Crowned Jr. Miss Calaveras 2008 ~By Hanna Heath (Updated With A 1/2 Hour of Great Video By Larry Vile)
Angels Camp, CA....This Saturday Kaylee Sedler from Mark Twain Elementary was crowned Jr. Miss Calaveras 2008 during the Jr. Frog Jump at the Altaville Melones Fire Department in Angels Camp. The Junior Miss Calaveras competition was open to 8th grade girls in Calaveras county. Five girls ran for the queen title and were judged on the following components, beauty, personality and pleasantness by a panel of experienced judges.....

This years Jr. Miss Calaveras Court includes:
Jr. Miss Calaveras: Kaylee Sedler from Mark Twain Elementary
1st Jr. Princess: Morgan Taylor from Avery Middle School
2nd Jr. Princess Lexi Anderson from Avery Middle School
In the photographs Kaylee is wearing a long pink dress, Morgan is wearing a short aqua silk dress and Lexi is wearing a short fluffy yellow dress.
The duties of the Jr. Queen include participation in many of the holiday parades and special events that take place throughout the county in 2008-2009.
The winner of this year’s Jr. Queen Pageant will be introduced during the Miss Calaveras pageant, Wednesday night of fair at 8pm, and will participate in many parades throughout the year. The queen also received a weekend pass to the Calaveras Jumping Frog Jubilee Fair.
The queen and her court will appear in the upcoming Frog jump parade on Thursday, May 15th.
Her court will also participate during each parade. In the case that Jr. Miss Calaveras can not attend an event the 1st runner up will take her place. When asked what are they most looking forward to at fair the girls replied, "wearing a crown and looking pretty at fair," followed by a quite chuckle.
The queens contestants that sold the top amounts of tickets were also announced during the event. The top seller who sold over 1500 tickets was Morgan Taylor. Morgan received a check for $100 from the fire department. The second top seller who sold over 1200 tickets was Cory Severed. Cory received a check for $50 from the fire department. The third top seller was Lexi Anderson, she sold over 900 tickets and received a check for $25.
As the winner of the Jr. frog jump, Wyatt gains admittance to the final round of jumping at the Calaveras County Fair International Frog Jump Championship on Sun. May 18.
The Altaville Melones Fire Department would like to thank the community for all their help and support during the annual fundraiser, "without you this event could not have happened." Also congratulations to all the raffle recipients who won the 2 night stay at Carson City Inn, 26 inch LCD flat screen, DVD player, golding for two, and the many gift certificate from local businesses.
