Calaveras Correction Officer Arrested on Domestic Violence Charges

San Andreas, CA...On March 6, 2020, The Calaveras County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a domestic violence incident that occurred in 2019. The domestic violence victim reported that a Calaveras County Correctional Officer had committed domestic violence related crimes against the victim while off duty in 2019. The Calaveras County Sheriff’s Office took an initial crime report from the victim and immediately contacted the Calaveras County District Attorney’s Office. The Sheriff’s Office requested the District Attorney’s Office take over the investigation. This was done to avoid any conflict of interest issues.

The Calaveras County District Attorney’s Office took charge of the investigation. The Calaveras County Sheriff’s Office was later notified by the Calaveras County District Attorney’s Office that they were bringing forth criminal charges against the correctional officer. The correctional officer was immediately placed on admi nistrative leave and is no longer working at the Calaveras County Jail.

In order to maintain the integrity of the investigation, the Sheriff’s Office will have no further comments on this case at this time. The investigation is being conducted and managed by the Calaveras County District Attorney’s Office. Any and all questions should be routed to the District Attorney’s Office.

I have no idea who this person is, but thanks for not publishing the name! As with all public servants, teacher’s, cop’s, whatever, when charges are levied, a persons name hits the news wave regardless of whether they have been found guilty or not they are ruined locally, sometimes without proof! Thanks again for not publishing until a trial might happen! Too many want to point fingers when the rumors or charges haven’t been verified!

Domestic violence is skyrocketing during this corona virus epedemic. Cops are not immune to the social ills we endure. If anything they are more suseptible.

Correctional Officers are like any other people, if you piss them off then they are going to retaliate.

So if you're Joe Blow employee at the market, or drywaller, or tree trimmer and you slap your wife/partner around and are arrested your name should be published?

But if you're a cop or a teacher or other public servant and you slap your wife/partner around and are arrested your name should NOT be published?

Those other people also haven't had a trial yet either, but their names get published.

Nice double standard to cover for the cops.

No news sources are releasing the name; why not? Any non-law person would have their name published. This is why Americans don’t trust their cops. Double standards.

If this person has been arrested, then that persons name is a matter of public record, by law. There is no confidentiality or privacy privilege. If that person is merely being investigated, or a complaint was filed with the DA, then it is not public information, it only becomes public record when the DA files the complaint with the court and / or the person has been booked.
So, which is it? Who is it?
