Deputies Arrest Carnival Employees at County Fair
Angels Camp, CA....On the opening day of the Calaveras County Fair Sheriffs Deputies arrested two carnival employees for outstanding arrest warrants. Sheriffs Deputies contacted James Gorman, 35, of Quincy Massachusetts at the fairgrounds regarding an outstanding arrest warrant. Deputies advised Gorman that he had a warrant for his arrest out of Massachusetts for assault with a deadly weapon and failure to register as a sex offender. While....
deputies attempted to handcuff Gorman he broke free and fled on foot. Gorman was captured after a foot chase through the midway and into an adjoining parking lot. Gorman had to be pepper sprayed during the arrest. Gorman was transported and booked at the Calaveras County Jail for the aforementioned charges as well as resisting arrest. Gorman awaits extradition back to the state of Massachusetts.
Deputies also arrested Robert Mitchell, 48, of San Francisco for a failure to register as a sex offender warrant. Mitchell was transported and booked at the Calaveras County Jail without incident.
