Nineteenth Case COVID-19 Confirmed in Calaveras County

San Andreas, CA...On Friday, June 5, 2020, Calaveras Public Health confirmed an additional case of COVID-19 in Calaveras County. The case is an older adult female from Angels Camp. This becomes the fourth case in Calaveras County within the last 72 hours. The source of the individual’s infection has not been determined at this time.
Calaveras Public Health staff is investigating the new case to determine any possible persons who may have had close personal contact with the positive individuals. Close contacts will be assessed and monitored for signs and symptoms of COVID-19 illness. Community transmission of disease remains a serious concern.

There is currently no vaccine to prevent COVID-19. The best protection against COVID-19 continues to be to:
 Stay at least 6 feet away from people outside of your household
 Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds
 Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth
 Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissues, or your elbow (not your hands)
 Wear a face covering over your nose and mouth to protect others

A COVID-19 testing site operated by OptumServe is open at the Calaveras County Fairgrounds Monday-Friday from 8:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M. Walk-ins are welcome. Appointments can also be made by going to www.lhi.care/covidtesting. For people without internet access, call (888) 634-1123. People can be tested with or without symptoms of COVID-19 at no cost.

The total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases for Calaveras County is now nineteen. Of those confirmed cases, thirteen cases have since recovered. To date, there have been no reported deaths to COVID-19.

    Keep the masks on inside

Keep the masks on inside. If I am masked and hack up a hair ball, 99% of the stuff stays in my mask. Keeping 6 feet away drops the risk down by 1/2, or .5%
The .5% might be stopped by your mask. Saw many inside over the last two weeks without a mask. Pray

Hey genius. More testing will always produce more positive cases. Doesn’t mean anything. Have deaths within the county increased? Didn’t think so. . .

    Who cares at this point?
Look all around. Natural Bridges is closed, oh wait it's not because all the azzholes just park a few feet somewhere down the road.
Next time I drove by, they took the barricades away too. Now I hear of all the graffiti, litter.
People from out of county are camping at sourgrass, they just park at the locked gates and walk in camping. At least half of everyone in the stores don't wear mask, our Governor lets out our criminals from all the jails, even though we have never had a case in our nails. No doubt many of you dems up here had a family reunion, first time in years not in some correctional facility, no doubt a few of the vehicles in your drwy were stolen to boot.

If you're not happy, you should write your congressman, or better yet, our Governor Newsom, he's the one opening up California.

Memorial Day Exposures
Posted on: 2020-06-06 04:54:51   By: Anonymous

Maybe these latest cases are from opening things up 2 weeks ago
on Memorial Day.
We should be like New Zealand and have 0 new cases.
Instead California has 2-3,000 new cases a day.
The Corona Virus does not rest or get tired.
Quarantine fatigue is real for humans......unfotunately.

How about those certain supervisors showing up for that demonstration/protest yesterday wearing masks but not practicing 6-foot distance? I'm staying helluva way to go to any kind of function like that. Anyone in that crowd (less than 6-foot distance) could have the COVID 19. Now I'm curious if the BOS meeting is gong back to the normal status with the public in the chambers!

I guess the corona pandemic is over since even elected officials can now meet in large groups with others! Can we all resume our normal lives and go to large gatherings, or is that privilege reserved exclusively for protected classes?

Did any of these news papers or protesters even mentioned that Floyd was convicted for armed robbery and considered dangerous? Did they talk about the drug use?

I don’t disagree that the need may exist to do a thorough review of police tactics but for all those “honoring” Floyd’s memory, I have just one question for you: Would you want your children to make the same life choices as he did?

I would want my child alive, same as George Floyd's mother.

And from what I have been informed (from very RELIABLE and valid sources) the officer had a vendetta against Floyd since Floyd was a former bouncer at one time and had to escort the same cop out for being belligerent.

Well apparently if you are a protester then you are immune from the virus. Take a look at all of the crowds of protesters that don't give a sh*t about their lives as only Black Lives Matter!

Being in a rural community means it takes longer for things to get to you. Cable TV, internet, cellular coverage, and viruses. Ya’ll about to find out real quick how real Covid-19 actually is.
