So sad, hopefully not correct. Just too many people up here, period.

Too many people, the roads are overcrowded, embarrassing so for "the 5th largest economy in the world". And the richest state too, so we're told. Just look at all of the accidents posted on the Pine Tree today.

I totally agree too many people traveling. CDC says you increase your chance of getting covid-19 and spreading it when traveling outside of YOUR community. Yet people think it's so safe to travel up here. I don't get it.

The breeders of today are brain dead. Pushing giant strollers into tiny stores and narrow sidewalks, using them as weapons to push you out of the way. Taking their children to these so called protests where they could be injured. Letting the children run and scream in restaurants and stores, and just like above leaving them unattended and forcing others to deal with them.

What a lot of locals don't seem to understand is ours is an economy dependent on visitors and second home owners. And the reality is many of those that complain the loudest were once from elsewhere, too.

Not sure one would find that word in a dictionary per se. How wonderful that you have some family history here but it does sound like you haven't made much of yourself. So much anger so early in the day - and on a Sunday no less.

Oh I can guarantee you, I've done very well, and I'm rather sure, better off than you.
As for pegboy definition ( and you have the technology at your finger tips, yes I'm positive, much better off then you.

            pegboy
A pegboy was a young man kept on pirate ships by pirates. This young man was forced to sit on a large wooden peg...all the time. Anyway, this was done so that whenever a pirate wanted.

It's a free country but use your head. If not it won't be free. If you can't use your head or don't have the brain power stay home. Pretty simple. So far people aren't using very good judgement.

Maybe it's better to know if someone was actually hit by a vehicle before reporting it?
Possible multiple lynching in Los Angles....well a bunch of Black men were hanging around on a corner after all.

Thank God we have the tourist back. Now our businesses can make money again, especially vehicle collision shops and hospitals. Our hospitals will be ranking in the money when more and more locals come down sick with the coronavirus, and our numbers will rise, this is just the begining. Just wait, by the end of July our numbers will triple at the least, and that will only be the ones who have it who were tested.
Then you have the ignorant locals who won't wear a mask, who don't care about anyone else, these rude, ignorant, aholes don't think about elders, toddlers, babies who's immune systems are at risk.
We'll have more garbage on the roads, campgrounds, more garbage at our lakes and rivers. Yup, thank goodness it's TOURIST SEASON EVERYONE YEA FOR THE TOURIST!!! YIPPEE DOO, IT'S TOURIST SEASON
EVERYONE SHOULD GET THEIR HUNTING LICENSE AND BAG A COUPLE OF TOURIST.

If you don't like it maybe it's time for you to move. You can thank the Calaveras County Visitor Bureau for the uptick in visitors. Also HGTV has a segment about buying in Arnold, renting the place out and boom...it would be paid off by the time you retired. You live in a tourist area - get used to it. The Democrates won't be happy until the state can no longer acccommodate the population.

Why would I want to move, I've been here my entire life? It use to be quiet, peaceful, we could go to town in Murphys. Now we wait until the tourist are gone. You're right, the Democrats think the more the merrier, except one season with low snowfall and it's drought time.
The Democrats are great, for crime and filling our nails, and giving our tax money to them and ignoring veterans, american citizens being homeless. Many people out of work because of the virus, and Democrats raising our taxes at a time of 8 billion dollars on those of us who still have a job.
Luckily my home is paid off, being 2nd generation, I'll bytch all I want, tyvm

Visitors need to behave when visiting here - don't drive the wrong way in the market parking lot, clean up your trash after snow play, or summer play, don't park on the sides of Highway 4 where it is no parking, including other roads i.e., Natural Bridges, don't turn left from Blagen Road onto Highway 4 - be respectful of where you are visiting - disrespect is what is irritating to permanent residents.

I know you don't want to move but let's face it...Arnold will never be the quiet, sleepy town it once was. I have owned property there since the 60's and have had a place for 43 years. I love it up in Arnold and am respectful to everyone and everything in the community. Once the politicians and developers get involved you can kiss your beautiful mountain time good by. We have had 4 generations that enjoyed and grew up in the area. It is sad, but things unfortunately have changed.

Houses are flying off the market in the upper Route 4 corridor often at full price or more with multiple offers. If you had the kind of job that you could work from home and were concerned about COVID in the cities, why wouldn't you move up to a second home for awhile? It's not like the kids are in school and no one's making much money in the bank. Those selling are doing very well right now.

No one living or buying in the Murphys or above area is very bright. It is due for a BIG forest fire, and because of that the home insurance is sky high..if you can get it. Fleeing the city to burn in a fire.

The HWY 4 area has made a nice comeback. About ten years ago the business along the highway was in a sad state. Now things have improved. As far as the environmental thing. It’s up to all people to respect Mother Earth. The current administration under trump has done everything it can to destroy . He rolled back environmental protections. Took us out of the climate accord.

They are. Reducing the number of immigrants coming into the country (1/5 of whom will ultimately become CA residents) helps to slow the increase of homessness, prevent the need for undeveloped lands to be turned into low-income housing, gas stations, Walmarts, etc., prevents hundreds of thousands of drivers from adding to the traffic congestion on state and county roadways, reduces the speed at which Arnold will become "Stockton of the Sierras", just to list a few. Of course, the open door approach the Democrats pride themselves on will do absolutely NOTHING to help the environment. Am I wrong? Can you name ONE WAY increasing the population will help the environment you all pretend to care so much about?
