Pinebrook Lake, Fly-In-Acres Lake, White Pines Lake and any other areas that will attract the Flatlanders needs to be closed now due to the Covid-19. I cannot believe that Merita Callaway approves of the amount of people that these areas attract especially during a pandemic.

Quit blaming everything on the flastlanders. Can't you stand up to the fact that until recently most people here were not even wearing masks.

That's not the point, the point is that these area lakes remain open with huge numbers of people and it must be stopped. Our district supervisor needs to do her job and close these areas that attract people in groups to keep the virus at a minimum in these areas.

It's a symptom of truth denial, the hallmark of the Republicans.
If Dump had taken a responsible course ,we could be as other countries, instead we are showing the rewards of Dump's ignorance and stupidity.

This is what no leadership shows.

        Try to excuse this.

Republicans = death from their denial of science- truth.

Of course bigots and racist blame the POTUS. Yet not one bad word of Galvin, who took economy over lives. Who until LAST WEEK didn't make wearing mask in public mandatory. And wearing mask is not enforced, at least not up here.
And I can assure you, it's not just Republicans who don't wear mask, only a BIGOT would assume that (I'm a Independent) though I would indeed think more repukes than dumbacrats don't wear a mask.
I think the National Guard should be brought in, and in groups, writing out citations to those not obeying the Governor's order about wearing mask.
Galvin opened up Calif too soon, maybe the dumbacrats will learn a lesson, save money instead of spending everything in your pocket and them some.
Don't give me that rainy day fund Galvin had. Check on Forbes, if the tax payers in Calif had to pay all our taxes, everyone who's had to pay taxes, would owe $78,000 a piece, that was two years ago.

Galvin and the Dems get an F- for the 5th largest economy in the world (what a joke) and bankrupting our state and citizens.

            Galvin? Repukes? Dumbocrats? Bigots? Racists?
You sure have a lot on your plate. All of it's crap.
Do you know what a bigot is? Most are in the Trump camp. Racists too.
You denounce Newsom at one point, then say he opened too soon.
While I agree with you that CA should not have reopened, I think that Newsom thought that Californians could handle the responsibility.
Unfortunately, there are way too many in this state that don't take this virus seriously.
Now it's up to our leadership to regain control of the spread of the virus. It's happening in some states, but not at the federal level.

As Supervisor Mills stated about Natural Bridges (1000 people at one time and one toilet.) The mass of people at our free recreation areas are creating a public health problem. Using the ground around waterways for a toilet could infect many with more than the virus.

The invasion of Flatlanders should be considered a public health emergency and stopped. Local law or military there to limit the number of people.

No it's being transferred by everyone in this state. It is really narrow minded to think the increase is in just one small county like calaveras. The thinking is state wide and no public official in this county wants to admit that because of fear they might get attacked.

      Because gets into this county.
Whether it's locals bringing it here after visiting other counties or mixing with someone that brought the virus with them.
More likely, the nonlocals brought the virus with them and spread it in a public place.
Nonlocals are not the ones being tested within our county. The nonlocals should be contacted by tracing means to see where they have traveled.

All this can be easily traced, as they have been tracking people by their cell phones since the beginning. The cell phone tracking should be made public, especially when an area is hit with a high increase of cases.

Stop by that same gas station on a weekend. You will see people pulling there trailers and toys going up the hill, and they are not from here and THEY ARE NOT WEARING A MASK. I actually seen a family with young kids filling up with gas there. Parents got out, kids got out no one was wearing a mask. I followed them up hwy 4 from the oakdale turn off. Don't fu****** tell people that valley people don't come up here and wear fricken masks or aren't a part of the problem. You have got to be a fuc**** moron to think different.

MITIGATION IS F*cking KEY!

Shut down Natural Bridges, White Pines Lake, Fly In, and Lakemont. Sure, there’ll be scoffers and lawbreakers. But only 50 jerks, compared to 1,000 (as were recently estimated to be at Natural Bridges). Advertisements, both online and in the media, from the Calaveras Visitors Bureau letting people know CALAVERAS COUNTY IS NOT OPEN FOR BUSINESS AS USUAL would be very appropriate. We need to enforce our guidelines, and stop worrying so much about the so-called “rights” and tender feelings of careless vacationers and day trippers. We don’t have the money or infrastructure to pay for their carelessness and selfishness.

And.....it is a terrible conundrum: If we don’t get a solid grip on COVID in our county ASAP, then ALL of our businesses will go down the toilet in the coming months.

We can’t panic for short term gain-we have to look at the long game.

Mitigation is key to survival for our businesses.

It just cracks me up that obvious city sKickers keep blaming the spread of C19 on the locals. SaveMart isn’t even able to keep T/P and eggs on the shelf due to the amount of Slickers flocking to the foothills so they won’t have to stay indoors or follow rules. You idiots think your so god damn special that you can come up to the foothills/mountains and be just as big of ass-holes as you are in the city , buy as much *bleep* as you can fit in a shopping cart, litter everywhere, graffiti rocks and think no one is gonna care. Dear God, it’s gonna be awful, a literal sh*t storm of circuit trimmers and harvesters, streaming into our county on the down low, and then slithering from California county to county.

And here’s the Calaveras Board of Supervisors, blithely ignoring any signs of the impending storm.

No one from the Board of Supervisors want to address the problem with the influx of FLATLANDERS invading our county and bringing the virus with them by abusing our subdivision lakes. Everyday the lakes are full without social distancing and without masks. It is not the locals that are rebellious it is the arrogant Bay Area yuppies that are defiant and will not follow CDC protocols. Unless the District Supervisor does her job and restricts these A-Holes from abusing our lakes then nothing will be done.

What we all need to do next year is grow a dozen hemp plants in and among our flowers and vegetables. Although hemp is legal to cultivate in California our board has restricted it's cultivation because it will cross pollinate and ruin the stoners cannabis crops. You can't get high on hemp but the hemp you grow will ruin the market value and potency of the cannabis crop. So next year let's all put a few small patches in every neighborhood in the county and bust the cannabis growers business

Yes definitely! Everyone grow a few male hemp plants, and up wind from known growers.

Pot growers grow female plants for the bud, they do not want male plants. Male plants pollinate by wind or insect and create seed on the females making their pot worth far less. Male hemp plants are the answer to destroy all outside grows.

1) Call in the National Guard to write citations for those not wearing mask.
2) Again, issue stay put orders not to leave your county ( unless work related) no tourist.
3) Restaurants may stay open to locals, as citizens of that town, city, or county, and first responders, with social distancing requirements.
4) Prisoners will not be let out but be in lockdown during the shutdown, no ifs, ans, or buts.
5) All vacation Rentals, all campgrounds, all will stay closed.
6) Fines will be given $250 for the first offense, doubled for the second and third. 4th offense will be lock up, fined, and community service.
7) All schools to remain closed, until further notice.

Galvin, you screwed this up big time, do it again and you're fired and you too can go to jail, no free get out of jail for you.

Didn’t have to be so bad if there was a national education and preventative policy set in place. Trump refused to do that. He left it all up to the Governors. Our Governor caught hell from all the trump cult and Repubs , most refusing to impose or enforce any of the mitigation regulations. Basically he has not gotten all the support he needed. Not from the feds, not from many local governments.

Russel's attitude has contributed to our mess we have. Send the rich kid back to San Jose with his terrible wine. Also boycott Irish tasting room. No following rules means no customers.

Now there's an idea! Why don't you suggest that to your local assemblyman or state senator?

Yup, straight up: at least ONE THOUSAND PEOPLE on a weekend. Hard to believe until you see the drone footage for yourself. It’s just incredible. I couldn’t believe it myself, until my son showed me. His buddy ran his drone over at about noon-two on Sat & Sun. My god, it was staggering, the amount of people and cars. Hundreds of people crowded into the little cave and creek, while dozens stood waiting in line on the dirt trail, because there wasn’t anywhere to sit or “swim”. I’ve never seen anything like it....When I was a kid, Natural Bridges was a lovely little glade, an ice-cold paradise on a summer day.

Well you can blame that guy over in Sonora (I forget his name) who ranted and raved about the bridges on line and then it went viral everywhere so everyone and their grandmothers are now coming up to check it out!
