EBMUD Limiting Capacity to Some Facilities Including Mokelumne Day Use Area

Mokelumne Hill, CA...Effective Saturday, July 18, 2020. EBMUD is committed to keeping our parks – and park visitors - safe. Due to overcrowding at the Mokelumne River Day Use Area, the park will remain open but with reduced capacity on the weekends to allow for social distancing and to reduce the impact on the park’s resources. Only 100 cars will be allowed in for day use at the Mokelumne Day Use Area and up to 20 parking spots will be available for launching watercraft. Early arrival or weekday visits are recommended.

The Mokelumne River Fish Hatchery remains closed.

EBMUD requests all visitors to comply with California’s public health order.

- practice social distancing and avoid congregating with people outside of their immediate households

- wear a mask when you can’t social distance

- do not travel significant distances and stay close to home while recreating outdoors

- bring your own gloves, masks, soap, disinfectants and tablecloths, and continue to follow all CDC guidelines.

Please check ebmud.com/recreation or https://www.ebmud.com/recreation/sierra-foothills/mokelumne-river-day-use-area/ for updates.

100 cars?
Posted on: 2020-07-25 13:56:38   By: Anonymous

that could be 100-600 people.
How about 20 cars?
Things are going to get worse before they get better.
Been hearing that but nobody is taking serious action.

How about controlling the numbers at White Pines Lake, there are way too many people. The overflow parking is now the school parking lot. That lake is a toxic sewer with all the social distancing taking place.

CCWD controls the access to the east end of White Pines. Make it harder for the illegal camping.
      SO should be citing them.
Sheriff P Rick oughta worry about all the illegal camping if he's not going to worry about masks.

The county has NOT put locals last.
The last time I looked, the county looks for DUI drivers during the week, not on weekends. So that's one strike against you.
The last time I looked, the county won't ticket drivers in down town Murphys for parking violations on the weekends, just during the week. So that's two strikes against you.
So there's just two for you to prove you wrong. Sometimes locals get the attention first, doesn't that just make you feel loved by our county?

Hey my bumper stickers are so faded one can't read'em anymore. Does anyone know who has the FLATLANDERS SUCK bumper stickers anymore? I'm in need of six? $5 a piece okay?

EBMUD and PG&E advertise the areas in the foothills as recreation for their Valley and Bay Area power customers. We don't need those areas over running and trashing where we live.

Keep businesses open up here, and tourist out.
Keeping tourist out will help tremendously in stopping the spread of this virus that's a little more deadly than the flu. Especially if you hear of the estimates that there's tens of millions of unreported infected, and one does the math.
But we shut down, so to get by this we need everyone to wear your mask. The ignorant Trump supporters and the party of murder, raping, pedophilia, you know, Democrats.

Yes, data shows you are 20x (TWENTY!! times) more likely to die of Covid 19 than the “flu”. One, we have a vaccine for each year, and one we don’t!

Spanish flu took out 600,000 plus people in the US in 1918, population now is three times that and we have millions more infected than in 1918.
Yup, it's not near as deadly, but I always wear my mask in public, wash my hands often and know it's not as bad as chicken little says it is.
Some country's did not shutdown, and have done so much better than us, the US has the most deaths because of stupid Americans NOT wearing mask and being clean.
Yes, I'm for real, and I take precautions and I'm not selfish, I act like I have elders and those with immune weaknesses around me

Pulleaz. As if local businesses would thrive on the one or two times a year you patronized them or ate out. Like it or not, we are a tourist economy at least on this side of the county. Have you not noticed that greater Arnold property sales are through the roof and competitive while the other side of the county is dying? The challenge is learning how to live and work together as more Californians and others come to the area when they can't really travel.

That any campgrounds are open right now is borderline criminal. Calaveras County needs to be put on the watch list or whatever needs to be done to get help get the tourists out of here. They truly have no business being up here.

What I saw at Sourgrass today was disgusting. That area and the campground should be CLOSED!!! So irresponsible, these flatlanders think they can come up here do what they want. THERE ARE PERMANENT RESIDENTS in this county, that DO NOT want people from the valley or bay area up here!!!! No one is going down to Modesto and hanging out in your neighborhood. GO HOME!!!!

The CC Board of Supervisors is behaving so irresponsibly, putting money before people's lives. They should be putting out public service notices telling people to stay away from here. Instead, they're passing ordinances allowing businesses in Murphys to serve food in their parking lots.

Excuse me but I never made that last statement and I don't think I made any statements on this! I see all these adds about reservations about wine tasting, etc. I believe if humanity could concentrate on fighting this Covid 19 that we should all try to SIP more often and chances are there would be way less of this virus floating around and eventually disappear and we can all open back up again-everything! And it can happen quickly! Our POTUS and others and our governments at all levels are working hard at their end to combat this. At least we could meet them halfway and heed to all these suggestions (subtle commands) like masks and social distancing, etc! So lets NIP THIS IN THE BUD! Right Tronald? I know you're the one making all of these snide comments!
