Angels Camp Says Goodbye to the Amani Children's Choir & Help the Choir Return Home to Uganda

Angels Camp, CA...A couple of weeks ago we had the pleasure to catch one of the last concerts performed (Outside) before they started their journey to get back home to Uganda. Their's is a heartwarming COVID-19 story. The normal plan for the Amani Choir is for them to come over to the U.S. every other year for a series of concerts as outreach and to support their ministry in Uganda.

As the story goes (At least the version we were told) they were scheduled to perform at Copper Canyon Baptist Church just at the start of the COVID-19 outbreak. As you may recall the first case in our area was in Copperopolis as the Copperopolis Elementary School. The school also happens to be where Copperopolis Canyon Church meets. So Pastor Sean Paulson called Pastor Shawn McCamey from Refuge in Angels Camp and asked if they might be able to stay there for the night.

"Of course and no problem" was the answer that led to a memory filled 4 months of Refuge Church in Angels Camp truly becoming a refuge in the COVID-19 storm for the 30 young souls from Uganda. What was supposed to be a temporary stop became a new home for them.

They are heading now across the country I believe as their flight leaves from the Washington, DC area. If you can help them fill the gaps in tier budget to get back to Uganda details from their GoFundme page is below...

"The Amani Children's Choir (part of Light Africa Ministries) desperately needs your help to return home to Uganda. The choir came to the US in November 2019 to raise funds to benefit the children of Uganda by performing concerts in various venues. In late March 2020, due to the Covid-19 virus, all of their concerts for the remainder of their year-long tour were cancelled and they have been sheltered in place in Angels Camp, CA ever since. Because Uganda closed their borders, they have been unable to return home since then as well. Now, they have the opportunity to return home, but only at great cost ($90,000) due to Uganda government restrictions requiring them to use a specific airline and be quarantined for 14 days in Uganda government specified locations.

The choir's visa's run out at the end of September 2020 and can't be extended without further concert bookings, which are still prevented due to Covid-19. So remaining in the US is not an option for them either.

We are raising money for Light Africa to pay their expenses (airline cost, quarantine housing cost, and food) so that they can return to their families in Uganda. Any donation will help get them home. Thanks in advance for your contribution to this cause.

More information about Light Africa Ministries: We provide educational opportunity for the children of Uganda and meet their physical, mental, emotional and spiritual needs. Provide individual child support through sponsorships. We build and run schools in Uganda, provide vocational training, as well as Church planting and support. See our websites at www.lightafrica.org and www.amanichoir.org."

I had the pleasure of meeting the children and adults. They we’re delightful, and amazing, these young ones we’re a long way fro home and their parents, and they made it through. Their study ethic with their school classes was amazing! May God bless this group and get them home safely!

Once again we see the radical evangelicals believing their brand of christianity will protect them from Covid.

The gathering was an endorphin frenzy, people high on their beliefs.

In talking to my neighbor , who had just come from a Sunday service at her evangelical church, I saw dilated pupils , she would not pass a cursory DUI test by a sheriff. A blood or breath test would be ordered.

The expression is high as a kite. A legal high , buy impaired none the less.

      Uganda Allows Killing Of Gays

Sadly, some evangelical churches in America export hate to Uganda , which has led to murders of gays there.
If God loves us doesn't he also love gays, part of his creation?
      Sadly religion sometimes promotes hate.

Yes God does love Gays, especially to stay out of the house of God.
A marriage is between a man and woman, not two of the same sex.

So you deny how God made you?
Science shows at conception that the die is cast whether you are gay or not.
It's the gene paring or some variations from the normal pairings of chromosomes.
It is how God made you.
If religion an invention of man sets up dogmas that are intolerant of all God's children, then isn't the problem with religion ? not the creation of God?
The studies show conversion therapy to "degay" people does not work, many end up dead from suicide due to pressures from those who cannot accept how people are.
Being is not a choice, it's in their dna.
To deny who you are, is a recipe for an unhealthy life.
A happy life comes from accepting who you are, and living a happy productive life.

It's called choices in life. You choose to live a moral life or not. You have moral, intelligent, history/life educated parents, or not. It is every parents full time job to lead and teach children after procreation. Sadly, many homes have no parent home leading or teaching their child life and moral lessons. The children are just left on their own, making bad decisions for life, becoming a burden on society and taxpayers.

You believe the lie that being gay is a choice.
That is a lie. Science- I know the evils of science, facts and truth is anathema to believers. Sad. Like those in church that thought the lord would protect them, they died with Covid.
Superstition is not science which is based on facts- truth.

Being gay is just that- you are, how God made you. It is not a choice. You are who God made you.

People that say being gay is a choice are ignorant and beyond any sense of consciousness- a cult member, denying science - truth. Sad.

Try to achieve consciousness, God wants people to achieve consciousness, not have closed minds.

All the religious hospitals, Baptist, Adventist , Catholic, accept science using the latest medical data, which is truth.

You must accept the fact being gay is a proven dna configuration- how God made you.

Or keep believing gay is a choice- the epitome of ignorance.

Did you know that the human race will completely die out in 76.7 years? That's if every child was born gay from this point on. Is that god, science or good old mother nature?

A happy productive life, like those two gay women from Oregon who drove off the cliff with all those kids inside their Suburban. Two women with faulty wiring killing kids.
Gay feminist who are twisted females full of hate. Men, women, brain box wired wrong just like the serial killer, mass shooters, cult members like in politics trying to grab the power in goverent even going to the extent of trying to overturn the 2016 elections from even before the election started. Bunch of sick, demented wackos out there.

No one here said anything of the sort. It's a positive thing to listen to what others experience and how they live in cultures and places far removed from our every day. How wonderful that these children had a similar opportunity. Get off your soap box, this is simply about getting them home to their families.

Just as these children didn’t choose to be a minority at birth, I can say most of them we’re kinder than most kid’s born around here. Color has nothing too do with this article, and so many of you go to the deep side, what is wrong with you? If it isn’t the evangelicals, it something else, what a hateful, shallow world we live in!

They’re little kids, and they haven’t seen their families in almost a year. If you take out all the religious arguments, they’re still just children far away from home.
If you are willing and able to donate to get them home, great, if not, don’t.
