The Reach 1 Boil Water Advisory Between Hunters Dam Road and Brice Station is Lifted

San Andreas, CA...The second round of state-mandated test results from the Reach 1 pipeline confirmed the water is safe for consumption. CCWD received the test results this morning. Samples were taken from different locations along the pipeline Wednesday and Thursday and the results show the water is safe. CCWD sincerely apologizes for the inconvenience of the temporary shutdown that occurred on Tuesday and for the subsequent boil water advisory.

An investigation has shown that the incident was the result of a failure of a mechanical device that was holding an 8” valve in place. That portion of the system has been eliminated and a secure bypass will remain in place until the new pipeline is brought into service. Once completed, the Reach 1 pipeline replacement project will eliminate approximately 4.5 miles of the old infrastructure that has failed on several occasions in recent years, including a separate and unrelated main break that also occurred on Tuesday.

The new 12” pipeline is already in place and crews will be installing related appurtenances and connecting service laterals over the next two months. Temporary shut downs will be required to complete this process, but every effort will be made to limit the duration of the shutdowns and to avoid future boil water advisories.

For more information, please contact CCWD Customer Service at customerservice@ccwd.org or (209) 754–3543

Please inform me as to why everyone is so against CCWD? Just moved here from the bay area and purchased several nice cabins in the Arnold area. The tap water is by far the best I've had and the people are very welcoming. It seems like the water company is upgrading their infrastructure for the coming decades, it's a nice change to see a company doing that unlike San Francisco that has 80 to 90 year old lines.

There are a bunch of whiners up here just like everywhere else. I know that Bertha has been up here for years and also on the board for a long time. My folks-for about 20 years-were customers of CCWD in Dorrington and they always had nice clean, fresh, and cold water-all Sierra water! As for the others I don't know what their problem is so just ignore them. Make your own decisions. Anyway-Welcome!

Please tell me who is this Bill? I keep hearing this name mentioned a lot. Did you just make him up? Additionally, your grammar and spelling is really bad!

Stevie baby. We don't give a sheet about the fact your parents were rate payers. We know they lived in Dorrington, and we know they did a lousy job of raising you. I.E. Drug and alcohol addictions. Please stop. We don't want to hear about your parents anymore. Sheeeeeeeeesh.

Number one I think you're full of *bleep*. Just what part of the Bay Area did you live, was your water from party of SF Hetch Hetchy system, or was your water EBMUD? Do you have water and sewer hookups here? Just being curious because I worked for years in the BA for a water company.

Anyway, I just absolutely love the picture and they're all laughing at your question and that you had to boil your water and you just love forking over your money to a company that's been screwing their workers and the public for years.

Last time I checked I am free to move anywhere I'd like to in the US, just because I capitalized on the low housing prices in this County and was able to get outta the city to improve my quality of life makes me unwelcome here??? Don't worry I'll make sure to flip these cabins when my colleagues are ready to retire and enjoy the beautiful scenery this county has to bring. God bless!

Straight from the pipe, hetch-hetchy water is some of the best water in the nation. Most of the times now SF water is mixed with other water agencies water, for all types of reason.
Hope you enjoy your little cabins in Arnold, hope you changed all the locks and checked and rechecked locks on windows, changed your garage door opener codes. I really like our water company where we are, they just raised their rate on the meter, for us it went up $8 a month, but if I were a CCWD consumer my bill would easily be over $175 in summer watering my garden, here by bill has never been over $62 and that's not counting for sewer. OMG that bill would be over $300.

Our water is cheaper than 62$ a month with CCWD. It's actually right around 57$ a month

Pistol in the pocket is better than a lock.
