Calaveras Pets of the Week Are Rachel & Reuben
San Andreas, CA...Meet Rachel a shorthaired brown tabby kitten and her brother Reuben, a medium-haired brown tabby. These adorable four-month old siblings are friendly, gentle and super-playful. They love people, to be petted and absolutely adore tummy rubs though right now are a bit too energetic to be held for long because what they want to do most is explore, hunt their toys and play, play, play. Being such good friends, it would be wonderful if they could be adopted together but they are not a firmly bonded pair.
As with all cats available for adoption, Rachel and Reuben are up-to-date on their routine vaccinations and have been micro-chipped. Since they are already altered, they can go home with you today!
Come visit these sweet kittens, impound nos. AO51525 and A051526, along with other cats and dogs awaiting their forever homes at Calaveras County Animal Services, 901 Jeff Tuttle Drive, San Andreas (in government center by the new jail). Animal Services is open to the public from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Tuesday - Saturday (closed for lunch from 1-2 p.m.). Currently, the Calaveras shelter remains open for visitors wishing to adopt. We are, however, limiting viewing to one person at a time in order to help prevent the spread of COVID-19. Please understand there may be a wait for you to view the shelter animals, many of which still await their forever homes during this pandemic. Adoptable animals may also be viewed on the web at http://animal.calaverasgov.us/Adoptions and on the Calaveras County Animal Services Facebook page.
Animal Services now has a Fee Flexibility Program!
When the dog or cat population at the shelter is at 80% or above capacity, the total adoption fee will be 50% off––reduced to $40 for dogs and $30 for cats. The adoption fee for cats who arrive at the shelter already altered will be $10. With the 55-5-5 Program, any time an adopter is 55 or older and adopts any pet over 5 years old, the adoption fee is $5.
