Shooting Leads to Death of 17 Year Old in Sonora

Sonora, CA...The Sonora Police Department is currently investigating a homicide that occurred just before midnight on Wednesday, September 16th. Dispatch received several 911 calls regarding shots fired in the area of School Street late last night. Officers arrived on scene within a minute of the initial call but were unable to locate anyone in the area. The Police Department received another call shortly afterward from an associate of the victim to advise his friend had been shot and that they were currently at the hospital.

Officers responded to the hospital and learned that the 17-year-old male victim had unfortunately succumbed to his injuries.

To preserve the integrity of the case, we are not releasing any additional details at this point.

Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to call the Sonora Police Department at 209-532-8141.

Not what we want to hear in our area. Have to say, my parents knew darn well where I was at midnight and also, who I was with. Sympathy for all involved. Only got to take my gun to the firing range! Something seriously wrong here! Sad to say.

Very sad news. It’s too bad there was not at least 10 good ol’ boys with M16s to protect this minor. Everyone knows, more guns is always better as long as they are not in the hands of minorities.

And I just bought a container of bear spray compact container for just $45.00. Never leave home without it and it shoots a stream of 35 feet!

With what is going on in the cities the police need to let the people know what the cause of this was as soon as possible. Everyone here is on heightened awareness of their surroundings and neighborhoods, as I am sure are those all around the US. We deserve to know what is going on so we can protect ourselves, family and be ready to help our community and law enforcement, if or when, we many need to.

This is what was one of the positives of living in a small community where everyone knew each other and was looking out for them. Everyone knew immediately what happened right away in the past and the problem quickly solved. All the influx of strangers has changed life here and it is not for the better.

Jesus Christ you idiot! There's nothing going on here other than some local fool shot a person. This happens all the time up here, small time squabbles. It's not antifa, black people, liberals or any other group your ignorant brain has been coached to fear. Get your eyes off the tube and your cranium out of your crack.

Dude, stevie are stupid is well, ...

His vernacular and style are easy to spot. Anytime you spot comments that are inane, redundant, self serving, windbag generated, of no value to the community, you can reasonably assume he's behind them.

He's exercising his freedumb of screech rights:)

The kids met to fight. The story will come out. You can’t keep teenagers from spreading news like this.
The police needs to make the anonymous hotline available immediately!
