Senate Confirms Amy Coney Barrett for Supreme Court

Washington, DC...Following a unanimous vote by the Judiciary Committee last week, the Senate just confirmed Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals Judge Amy Coney Barrett to become the 115th Associate Justice on the United States Supreme Court. “Having confirmed her to the Circuit Court in 2017 with bipartisan support, the Senate has already undertaken a thorough and rigorous review of her record,” Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) said after President Trump made the nomination last month.

Throughout Justice Barrett’s career, she has faithfully upheld our U.S. Constitution as written. The American Bar Association gave Barrett its highest rating, and she has an impressive track record across the legal profession—as a judge, professor, and litigator.

Most important, she will bring a valuable new perspective to our High Court:

Justice Barrett is the first mother of school-aged children to become a Supreme Court Justice. She is also only the fifth woman ever to serve.
As the mother of a child with special needs, she understands the issues and concerns confronting our nation’s most vulnerable people.
Justice Barrett will be the only current justice to have a law degree from a school other than Harvard or Yale. She graduated at the top of her class from Notre Dame Law School in Indiana.
Justice Barrett has made her philosophy clear: She will not legislate from the bench. “Courts have a vital responsibility to the rule of law, which is critical to a free society, but courts are not designed to solve every problem or right every wrong in our public life,” she said during her confirmation hearings.

“The policy decisions and value judgments of government must be made by the political branches, elected by and accountable to the people,” she added.

One letter—written by Justice Barrett’s former law clerks—calls her approach principled and independent-minded. “Judge Barrett taught us that a good judge will not always like the results she reaches; a good judge goes wherever the law leads,” it reads.

Justice Barrett is the very model of a sympathetic yet impartial judge, according to her colleagues at Notre Dame Law School. She is exactly the type of person whom the American people deserve to have sitting on their Supreme Court.

“If we are to protect our institutions, and protect the freedoms, and protect the rule of law that’s the basis for the society and the freedom that we all enjoy—if we want that for our children and our children’s children—then we need to participate in that work,” Justice Barrett said.

I use an extraordinary large condom on my womb broom. Oh it's just so 'hard' to do, or a woman to take birth control.
If you don't use precautions, do you really want to be so callous as to think vacuuming out an unborn child is like emptying out the garbage?
Maybe you just want a one night stand, or maybe your spreading your legs to get a better paying job like Kamala Harris, do you want to take the chance with a sexual transmitted disease?

Ever heard of a condom breaking? Or a pregnancy from rape or incest? Or a wanted pregnancy that threatens the life of the mother? Ever heard of birth defects incompatible with life?

How about you worry about your own uterus?

I don't have a uterus, that would belong to my wife. Of course I've heard of a condom breaking. Putting a condom on a schlong this big would happen all the time. I've also had a vasectomy, and now I'm recently married, so wearing a condom isn't necessary anymore.
Do you miss know the top 3 reasons for Abortions?
            1) Negative impact on the mother's life
            2) Financial instability
            3)Relationship problems/unwillingness to be a single mother

Now let's look at the hard cases you described, in percentages, okay?

0.36% of abortions done to save the life or health of the mother (5,200 per year)
0.09% done in cases of rape or incest (1,300 abortions per year)
0.24% done for fetal birth defects (3,470 per year)
0.69% done for all the hard cases combined (9,970 per year)
So those cases you described barely made 1% out of hundreds of thousands of abortions.
So this is why I think it's critical of people being careful, use protection and common sense, and if you're pregnant and having that baby, you MUST have the guy take responsibility too.
I know it's your body, no man should have a right to say what you can or can't do, but it's also life...and to end a life because of relationship problem?
Like I said, I'm glad I'm here, mom and dad were living in a little shack on a walnut tree orchard.

I believe that all teenage boys should be required to get vasectomies. Once they have proven they can provide for a child and have a willing partner, they can have the surgery reversed. Let’s regulate a man’s body for a change.

Or just realize that banning abortion would not reduce abortions. They would only become less safe.

Respect that women know what they can and cannot do with their bodies and lives. It’s that simple.

Women of all races and ethnicities choose abortion. In 2014, 39 percent of abortion patients were white, 28 percent were black and 25 percent were Latinx. Similarly, women of all religious affiliations choose to end their pregnancies at similar frequencies.

Most of these women understand what it means to parent a child. More than half of abortion patients in 2014 were already mothers.

Poor women account for the majority of abortion patients. Fifty-three percent of women pay out-of-pocket for their abortion. The rest use private or state-funded insurance plans.

Women choose abortion for multiple reasons. The most common reason cited is that pregnancy would interfere with education, work or ability to care for dependents.

Financial stress also plays a major role in women’s decision-making. Seventy-three percent of women reported that they could not afford a baby at the time. Nearly half cited relationship difficulties or wanting to avoid single motherhood. More than a third of women felt their families were complete.

        I'm a Democrat and I'm voting for a Republican.
My reasons are numerous, but here's just a few of them.
        I want law and order.
I want my borders protected and those here illegally should be granted immunity unless they're in any gang or a wanted violent felon.
Government is too large and seems to be growing everyday.
Taxes, especially here, are ridiculous high.
Just the tip of the iceberg.

And I'd love to see DC partly drained

No that's the truth, I'm a Dem, voting Republican. And I agree, I think more Republicans or independent would vote Biden than the other way.
Though I just read this on Fox, "More than 59 million Americans have already cast their ballots ahead of Election Day – but some might be wondering if they can change that vote, according to Google Trends.

Google searches of the phrase "can I change my vote" peaked Tuesday morning in the U.S. around 6 a.m. ET."

This is why I don't understand people voting so early that they didn't even see one debate before casting their vote. (Even though the first debate Trump screwd it and himself, up)

When will the American People, especially the Black Americans, realize that after hundreds of years democrats have owned the majority of slaves, that their hatred of Black Americans must be in their DNA? What is with you people? It took a Civil War and hundreds of thousands of lives to end slavery, and what did the democrats DO? They started their own Democrat ONLY exclusive club, The KKK. Seems it's still alive and going strong today, they just point their fingers and blame Republicans, and fools believe them. Another killing, AGAIN in a Democrat state, in a Democrat city, a Democrat cop hired by a Democrat mayor. Mmm, must be Trump's fault, cause as Biden said, you ain't Black if you don't know who you'll vote for. Or, What are you on, crack?

Educate yourselves: "socialism is compatible with democracy and liberty". Democrats are no more socialists than republicans. You are ignorant to think differently. Democrats will have their day - more justices can be added to the court - and will be. Republicans are on the SAME level as democrats, even though they don't think so.

The Republican Party needs to go away.

None of their espoused principles are real. They’re not fiscally or socially conservative, they’re not pro-life or pro-troop or pro-small government.

Their only real principle is a raw, unprincipled pursuit of power at all cost.

She couldn’t name all 5 protections contained in the First amendment! A Supreme Court Justice should know this by heart:

“ Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances.”

Like Albert Einstein said: The mind was made to create, not to clutter with a bunch of facts you can lookup in a $10 Almanac at the Drugstore. Amy has proven that she is serious about doing her homework....and she will!!!!

We got here with a President impeached over foreign interference. Nominating a justice a week before an election and confirmed by 52 senators. Two of which were appointed, not elected and one of which was appointed after voters rejected her in a senate race. Sounds legit. (Sarcasm should be obvious).
