A Message From The Angels Camp Police Department on Covid Uptick
Angels Camp, CA...Since the recent uptick in COVID-19 cases throughout the nation, the Angels Camp Police Department wishes to remind our community of the seriousness of this pandemic and request that everyone continue to do their part in stopping the spread of the virus. Please remember to do your best to avoid large gatherings, stay socially distanced when possible, and wear a mask when required to do so.

We Would Like To Thank Fox Security For Sponsoring Angels Camp Police Dept Releases
It is not only us as individuals that can be affected by COVID 19, but also our first responders, healthcare and public health professionals. Our healthcare teams are on the front lines of this pandemic and as cases rise they continue to take the brunt of its response. As members of the law enforcement community, we stand in solidarity with our healthcare teams. We urge our community to continue to show your support as well by making informed decisions about COVID 19 risks and your health.
I want to personally thank you for taking this healthcare crisis seriously and for continuing to put community above self. Although many may not agree with the recently issued Executive Orders from the State, the City of Angels would like to remind residents that any COVID 19 enforcement or compliance issues should be directed to the Calaveras County Public Health Department at 209-754-2896. On behalf of the Angels Camp Police Department, we wish you good health this holiday season.

If you want to stop the spread, put an end to large gatherings and fine people who ignore the warning. Plus fine people who are not wearing masks.

There is no stopping the spread. Society may be able to slow the spread, but in the end viruses are going to do what viruses do, which is spread.

Wrong. The nations of the world have teams and resources standing by to take steps to stop the spread of disease, and those efforts have been generally successful. The reason US is number one in cases and deaths is due in large part to the administration’s failure to act in a reasonable manner.

A few 100 dollar fine tickets would make a big difference in reducing the number of unmasked people.
It’s like seat belts, it’s like cell phone use, it’s like motorcycle helmets...

Hey, you have to wear pants and shirt and shoes to go into most stores and restaurants. Why is a face covering such a big deal ? People act like that act of wearing a face mask is like a huge personal freedom issue. Really?

Yes it is . Public health has emergency powers granted by Constitutionally created legislation. People can be forced to comply if they refuse to cooperate. Just like the president has emergency powers, so do State and local agencies facing an emergency situation.

I have. Call the public health department, then call the environmental health department. Public Health doesn't do enforcement, and the env. Health department enforces food safety regulations. Neither one has the ability or authority to enforce masks and covid restrictions.
It's all LAW AND ORDER around here, unless you don't like the laws and orders. 🤔

Exactly. They could, but don’t want to for fear of riling up the torch and pitchfork crowd. Sheeit, if you walked into a store smoking a j the management, cops, and half the town would want you busted. Or if you walked in only wearing your jockey shorts, you sure as hell would get kicked out and may end busted. So, what it boils down to it is just plain fear of political backlash why local agencies won’t enforce face coverings. And just plain screw you political attitude from those that won’t over up.

Well said Angels Camp PD! Not everybody wants to hear it but you’re saying the right thing. At least your conscience will be clear that you did what you could to put out the right message. Doing any less or spreading the false narrative is not showing the care you have for our community.

So some people think that all is mask stuff isn’t a law and therefor they don’t have to do it....SO BY GAWD THEY JUST AINT GONNA DO IT.......no matter what the pandemic expert doctors tell us how to reduce suffering and death and economic destruction.
Anyone who listens to a politician instead of the doctors, that is the definition of a fool, in this case, a dangerous fool.

It may not be a law, but I see it as a strong suggestion-same as a "subtle command" (if you ever heard of that term). So you (whoever you are) are very juvenile or an older person with juvenile tendencies. You need to step out of the box and see the whole truth of things (that is if you want to stay healthy). That's why I just SIP this holiday as was strongly suggested. I have known of folks who have been POW's surviving under worse conditions in regards to being isolated during foreign wars and they pulled out of that. In fact, it made them stronger in mind and spirit! So snivel away and if you want to be defiant about this, well that's on you. That's your bad!

Close hotels, air BnB, cabin rentals, and keep the second homes in their primary residences.
Anything less should be grounds to impeach the entire Board of Supervisors who value tourist dollars over locals health
