Tell that to the overfilled hospitals and overwhelmed nurses and doctors. You want to see a high suicide rate, look there.
Our health system can’t handle this, and that’s why we all need to do our part. It’s not about an individual getting sick.

If you're serious and willing to do a little footwork to bring local violators into compliance it's simple. After the 1st when the new law takes effect, simply go into the violating business and make a date stamped video of the violations occurring. Email the video to the CalOSHA inspector responsible for Calaveras County. Repeat as often as necessary, call the inspector' supervisor if necessary to see that action/investigation is occurring on your complaint. That phone you have in your hand can get any of these businesses closed down.

People have the right to manage their own lives!!! If you believe the risk is too great for you by all means stay home. However you don't have the right to destroy other people's lives just because they have a different risk tolerance than you do.
People fought and died for these freedoms.

Your mindset is exactly why we are in the purple zone.
Please people stop going to functions like this. Do support local restaurants by ordering in home or get take out. The people still dining in the restaurants are the biggest reason we are in the purple zone.
Note the CDC Guidelines for Eating Out
The CDC has a number of guidelines on their website regarding dining at restaurants. They also published research in September finding that patients with symptomatic COVID-19 infections were more likely to have eaten at a restaurant — including indoor, patio and outdoor seating — in the 2 weeks prior to symptom onset.
"Reports of exposures in restaurants have been linked to air circulation," the authors wrote. "Direction, ventilation, and intensity of airflow might affect virus transmission, even if social distancing measures and mask use are implemented according to current guidance." Dr. Anthony Fauci, for one, orders in delivery or gets take out, to support the restaurants in his neighborhood.
Findings from a case-control investigation of symptomatic outpatients from 11 U.S. health care facilities found that close contact with persons with known COVID-19 or going to locations that offer on-site eating and drinking options were associated with COVID-19 positivity. Adults with positive SARS-CoV-2 test results were approximately twice as likely to have reported dining at a restaurant than were those with negative SARS-CoV-2 test results.

2. What did Assembly Bill 685 change?
Assembly Bill 685 made permanent and temporary changes, that include:
* Employers are required to notify all employees at a worksite of potential exposures, COVID-19-related benefits and protections, and disinfection and safety measures that will be taken at the worksite in response to the potential exposure.
* Employers are required to notify local public health agencies of all workplace outbreaks, which are defined as three or more laboratory-confirmed cases of COVID-19 among employees who live in different households within a two-week period.
* From January 1, 2021 until January 1, 2023, Cal/OSHA can issue an Order Prohibiting Use (OPU) to shut down an entire worksite or a specific worksite area that exposes employees to an imminent hazard related to COVID-19.
* From January 1, 2021 until January 1, 2023, Cal/OSHA can issue citations for serious violations related to COVID-19 without giving employers 15-day notice before issuance.

Hewlett-Packard is relocating its corporate headquarters to Houston but will maintain its offices in San Jose and Dublin. Many tech companies are considering less expensive rental properties than Silicon Valley and CA but more to do with the pandemic than the state itself. If 40% of your workforce is now doing so from home and you don't have to maintain offices where they live, it's a way to cut the bottom line.

Definitely reporting this to the county health department. The owner of the hotel must really hate his community if he’s willing to host a super spreader event. What a total shame. I hope everyone remembers this. I just hate how self centered this is. What happened to caring about our community?

I’m definitely going to report you to the children of Calaveras County for trying to get Santa in trouble for making the long trip out to Murphy’s California. You are causing a more traumatic emotional medical experience in their life for having a bitch fit over this. You will definitely be on the naughty list.... but it’s ok the sleigh will still fly this year.

Also why is The Pine Tree promoting this super spreader event? Shame on them! Just like when he advertised for the “Trump Train” event. I guess we know their true colors.

This establishment has saved more lives in the community than we have lost. If you can’t comprehend that then I’m sorry for your selfish reason. The COVID is not the only hardship that exists! If anything this establishment has inspired hope at a very young age.

In other countries, the government is paying bars and restaurants to stay closed so that this doesn’t happen.

Thank you Murphy’s Hotel for offering this and for the continuous contributions you make to the community. Obviously this isn’t a popular subject with everyone, but this year has been a difficult year with everything being stripped away from the children. Since the probability of surviving COVID (with no underlying health conditions) is above 99%, my family will gladly be attending. I don’t understand why all these negative commentators need to partake in this thread. If they feel so strongly about the risks of COVID, they should already be planning on staying home and isolating, so this event shouldn’t make any difference to their health.

Really?! Because those people then go to the grocery stores, churches, etc. and spread it to innocent people. It's selfish.

Until your kid goes to school, hangs out with their friend, and then BOOM kid and friend have it maybe their friend has a terrible autoimmune disease they don't know about yet due to age or lack of health care. Then your kid has a really sick friend and maybe they feel responsible. But maybe not since their parents don't seem to even care about anyone who may have a different opinion or a "lesser" immune system. Crazy people don't even know how to be cooped up in their house for a couple days without going insane. Plot twist ANYONE can dress up like Santa. You could rent/buy a santa costume and not expose anyone but breaking the rules just feels better. Please don't try to justify your actions by calling people who just don't want other people to get sick "scared". Have you ever lost a love one unexpectedly? Maybe go back to remembering how you felt then and realize how many other Americans have felt that way just this year alone due to a disease people think is made up. COVID doesn't care if you think you're right or not and it's not a political issue. I hope if you attend this event your family leaves just as healthy as they were before. Because let's not forget all the tourists that come up from the city love the relaxed rules too.

Then.... don’t bring you child to see Santa ever. Make up another fantasy world for your kid. But don’t ruin it for the other kids. Just because yours can’t see Santa in person doesn’t mean the rest can’t.

It breaks my heart that the owner of the hotel HATES his community so much, that he is willing to host a super spreader event.

Hmm I wonder if the V posted the Santa Ad they have if they would be trashed in the same fashion???
PS If your so afraid then don't go to either event. Just stay home and keep your peanut gallery like comments to yourself. I am happy that they are doing something to cheer up the young kids today. Just think if that kid in Stockton had some enjoyment in his life he might not have killed himself at home and have his sister discover him.

I am in complete disgust of this communities hate!!! I honestly feel the pine tree should stop comments on this post!! I don’t read you all complaining about the 1,456 homes sold in Arnold Ca recently. I don’t read you all complaining about the little shops people are packing into doing there yearly Christmas shopping. Don’t you think the employees would be dropping like flies if they were spreaders 🤔? Maybe I’m wrong, but I seem to see the same faces every time I go. Wash your hands like your supposed to, DON’T go out if you’re not feeling well, stay at home if you’re uncomfortable.
