Calaveras County Fair & Jumping Frog Jubilee Remembers Fair Director Trinchero

Angels Camp, CA...(Frogtown, USA)..January 5, 2021 Calaveras County Fair & Jumping Frog Jubilee lost long time Fair Director Bob Trinchero. Bob Trinchero began his tenure with the Fair in 1999. He was appointed by Governor Gray Davis and served under Governors' Davis, Schwarzenegger, Brown, and Newsom. During the last 22 years Trinchero served as President of the Fair Board, Vice President, Chairman of Finance, Chairman of Operations, Board Liaison to the Frog Jump Committee, Theme Committee, Junior Livestock Committee and Destination Angels Camp. In 2008 he was instrumental is forming the "Friends of the Calaveras County Fair & Jumping Frog Jubilee" a non-for-profit organization to work hand in hand with the Board of Directors. In 2011 Director Trinchero led the board in a reorganization that resulted in a financial and community revitalization.

Trinchero was passionate about the Outstanding Livestock Exhibitor Program. He was involved in the program since its creation. Every year he and a panel (which usually included Director Gay Callan) would judge the candidates. This was not an easy task. The team would review their essays, record books, projects and conduct an interview. All the candidates were highly qualified and experienced exhibitors. Eventually the program expanded to include younger exhibitors and new divisions were created. Bob loved interacting with the exhibitors, offering positive feedback and giving the exhibitors goals to work toward. In 2020 he interviewed the candidates via zoom. "It was the first time I sat in on the interviews and was amazed how Bob knew the students, had read and studied their resumes, essays and record books. He was completely engaged. Bob was like that, forever present in the moment." says Laurie Giannini.

It is with a heavy heart that I address the loss of our board partner, friend, mentor, and leader Bob Trinchero. His long tenure of 22 years on the 39th DAA board was one of total dedication, several years as board president and always a positive force with all projects that came our way. His vision and participation in multiple projects were always with positive determination and without his direction, most would not have been completed. Our board flourished because of his leadership, experience, and knowledge. On behalf of the Calaveras County Fairboard, we extend our thoughts and prayers to his wife, Pat, son, Jason, and extended family. He will be dearly missed, not only as a director and past president on the fair board, but as a confidant, dear friend, and mentor.

Gay Callan
Board President

Director Bob Trinchero was a mentor, encourager, cheerleader, and friend. He was the constant professional. He knew how to treat people. He treated a millionaire and a carnival worker with same respect and affable manner. He encouraged the Fair staff to expand their knowledge and experiences. He taught me how to be present in the moment while planning. He encouraged me professionally and personally. He inspired confidence. He will be missed.

Laurie Giannini
CEO Fair Manager

Thank you Mr Trinchero!

I want to personally thank you for encouraging all the flatlanders to come up here year after year with their crime litter and drama!

I want to also thank you for my vehicle getting broke into numerous times while at the fair.

I want to thank you for allowing the flatlanders to buy and sell their illegal drugs in the bathrooms.

All Mr Trinchero did was pocket off of other people’s misery!!!
