Amador COVID-19 Update
Amador County, CA... Amador County Public Health reports one hundred and two new cases of COVID-19, bringing the total laboratory confirmed case count to 1,315, and 2 additional deaths since last Tuesday’s update. The individuals who passed were 2 males, 1 in their 60s and another in their 80s. The new cases include 51 males and 51 females, 8 children under the age of 18, 58 aged 18-49, 22 aged 50-64, 14 over 65 years of age; 23 residing in Ione, 36 living in Jackson, 10 living in Pine Grove, 11 in Pioneer, 7 in Plymouth/surrounding areas, 14 residing in Sutter Creek/Amador City, and 1 in Volcano. Seventeen cases, including Mule Creek State Prison (MCSP) inmates, are currently hospitalized.
Today, the Sacramento Region, which includes Amador County, exits the Regional Stay-at-Home Order to the Purple tier in California’s Blueprint for a Safer Economy. This allows for the following changes in Amador County:
Hair salons, barbershops and personal care services: Open indoors with modifications.
Restaurants and wineries: Open outdoors with modifications.
Hotels and lodging: Open with modifications.
Tomorrow, January 13, 2021, no-cost community COVID-19 nasal swab testing by appointment will change location and transition to OptumServe. Online registration may be accessed at https://lhi.care/covidtesting. Those without internet access may register by calling 1-888-634-1123. The new testing site will be at the Health and Human Services building rear parking lot located at 10877 Conductor Blvd, Sutter Creek, CA 95685. Those with a scheduled appointment will drive around to the rear entrance of the building, park in the area designated by red cones, and remain in their vehicle. Testing staff will approach the vehicle with instructions. Appointments will be available in Amador County on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays.
The Amador COVID-19 website has a workplace outbreak tab with documents for employers to report workplace outbreaks in accordance with the State of California Department of Industrial Relations COVID-19 Infection Prevention Requirements (AB 685). An outbreak is defined as 3 cases within 14 days at a workplace. AB 685 now requires employers to notify employees of all potential exposures and notify the local public health department of outbreaks.
Amador County continues COVID-19 vaccinations within the Phase 1a designation. Over 1700 vaccinations have been given to date in Amador and 2nd doses began last week. The Phase 1a groups currently being vaccinated include healthcare workers, first responders, and community outreach workers that support vulnerable populations. The supply of vaccine continues to be limited. Amador facilities are participating in the Long-Term Care Pharmacy Partnership vaccinating local skilled nursing facility residents and staff. As more vaccine becomes available, additional people will be offered the vaccine as Amador moves through the tiers of the allocation guidelines. The next phase, Phase 1b, will include critical infrastructure workers, elementary, middle school and high school teachers and staff, childcare providers, and individuals 75 years and older.
