Calaveras Public Health Announces Twenty-Two Additional Deaths from COVID-19
San Andreas, CA...As Calaveras County comes out of a recent COVID case surge, Calaveras Public Health is working to reconcile its case information with the state reporting system. Due to this, there will be some fluctuations in case information. This includes COVID case fatalities that occurred during this surge. Reporting of COVID fatalities that occurred during the surge occurs when the cause of death is confirmed by the State of California and by Calaveras County Public Health. The public should be prepared to see a rise in reported case fatalities that occurred in the last three months, including 22 additional deaths that will be reflected in the county’s COVID-19 dashboard later today. Our thoughts are with the families that have lost loved ones.

Calaveras Public Health urges the public to assume widespread transmission of COVID-19 within our county and take the recommended prevention measures seriously to protect their family and friends from this pandemic. The best way to prevent illness is to avoid being exposed to the virus:
Wear a face mask that covers your nose and mouth when you leave home, including public places and anywhere you will be around people who do not live with you.
Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds or use hand sanitizer. Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth.
Stay at least 6 feet away from other people.
Stay home if you are sick.
Avoid gathering with other households.
To receive information and resources related to COVID-19 visit the Calaveras County COVID-19 website.

So tired of reading this news! Hope this crap turns the page. Lost 16 months of a good life and that can’t be made up! Time for some of us is prescious. Had serious travel plans, now, we start from scratch and replan our destinations. We can do it, no doubt.

Not true. Did Q tell you that? Hospitals may be reimbursed for expenses incurred by treating Medicare patients suffering from COVID (guess what, Einstein? There are often more costs incurred when caring for COVID patients) but not for labeling as cause of death. I challenge you to speak with a medical professional instead of repeating such falsehoods you likely heard from your mechanic or hairdresser.

Two both of the posters above, your lack of empathy and compassion is off the charts. You may even be asymptomatic spreaders yourselves and unwittingly contributed to some of these deaths. Prayers and healing thoughts for loved ones left behind.

Ridiculous! Boom. Just like that the county tells us there were 22 additional deaths. That like doubles our deaths, which are way over comparable counties our size to begin with. Why weren't they aware? Why haven't they kept us informed all along? What the hell is going on at County Health supervisors? You people are failing us BIGTIME! NO LEADERSHIP!

I wouldn’t take a pet to joke San Andreas hospital for treatment or myself. If you stub a toe might die from sepsis in that place. And by the government would deemed it as COVID-19. Under LYING conditions.

Read carefully. These are cases that had to be verified by both public health and the state. It's the process that is lengthy and cumbersome and little to do with local government.

The county can report what they please. If they don't have enough confidence in their own ability to declare it a covid death we sure as heck shouldn't have any confidence that they're managing the public health. They're not. It's their choice not to inform us. Really doubt there's a law prohibiting them informing us of their results.

Seriously? How stupid are we here? Until the state says they died of Covid they didn't? That's like being killed in a car accident, but you really haven't until the insurance company pays a claim. In the meantime we have an outbreak that killed over 20 people along with increased spread among the population. And we wait what 2,3, 4 weeks until the state says, oh, ok, you need to know there's an increase in deaths. Unfortunately too many people around here only get with it when they feel an increased threat. That includes our supervisors, who've yet to implement any responsible strategy. So let's all just pidfle around dying until the state gets around to telling us what we already knew 4 weeks ago, and didn't release to, or tell the citizens of the county.

Justifying Trump's behavior by using the stock market as how well he did.
Ignoring 500,000 dead Americans.
The rest of the world hated him.
74,000,000 Americans voted for him, but that is a small percentage when there are close to 10 billion humans on Earth.
Why would anyone vote for someone they think is a jerk.
Are there really 74 million Steven Are Stupid?

This county health department just cannot figure out how to give us current and ACCURATE information - it is impossible to compare one day's statistics to the next day's so we can accurately track if we are doing better or worse as we go along with this virus. Sad indeed.

Amazing how the connection with our resigning health director is not related to this.
He obviously knew something was amiss and was too appalled to work in this county.
The deniers caused this.
Murphys can claim there weren't any cases related to open businesses, but facts say otherwise.
Valley Springs is a joke.
If I had an elderly relative at a care facility in San Andreas, they would have come to live with me.
Still seeing no mask wears at SaveMart in AC. How sad is That?

This whole vaccination thing is taking forever in this county to do (just like anything else). There are shortages of it everywhere whether its in a hospital or places like CVS . Then one hears about these 'line jumpers.' Or maybe we live in a world of the "haves and the have nots?" I've still been healthy, wearing a mask since March. Hey, I wear a MASK when I go into Save Mart and my good health is proof of that! Now Dr. Fauci states we may all have to wear masks through 2022. Now don't you think that raises a red flag? Hello? It's mid term year. This whole thing is one big Cluster&&&k! Now there is talk about folks not being allowed to get a hotel room or go into restaurants without proof of vaccinations? Is this the Mark of the Beast? Hmmm.
