Gypsy is Your Calaveras County Animal Services Pet of the Week!
San Andreas, CA... Meet Gypsy, a Boxer/Pit Bull mix estimated to be about one and half years old. Aside from her having puppies recently, we don’t know very much about her as she came to us as a stray. Exuberant and playful, Gypsy will need a family with adults or older children since she likes to jump up on people to show affection. A little more training is in obvious order but she does want to please, sitting for treats and taking them with a soft mouth. Gypsy remains quiet in her run, too, often amidst a kennel of barking dogs and bleating goats. She also tested well with other shelter dogs, both male and female.
As with all dogs available for adoption at the Calaveras Animal Shelter, Gypsy is micro-chipped and up-to-date on her routine vaccinations. She will need to be spayed before going home with you. Should you have another dog at home, a meet ‘n’ greet is required.
Come visit Gypsy, impound no. AO52875, along with other dogs and cats awaiting adoption at Calaveras County Animal Services, 901 Jeff Tuttle Drive, San Andreas (in government center by the new jail). Animal Services is open to the public from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Tuesday - Saturday (closed for lunch from 1-2 p.m.). Animal Services now has a Fee Flexibility Program!
When the dog or cat population at the shelter is at 80% or above capacity, the total adoption fee will be 50% off––reduced to $40 for dogs and $30 for cats. The adoption fee for cats who arrive at the shelter already altered will be $10. With the 55-5-5 Program, any time an adopter is 55 or older and adopts any pet over 5 years old, the adoption fee is $5.
