Belle is Your Calaveras County Animal Services Pet of the Week
San Andreas, CA...Meet Belle, a Belgian Malinois estimated to be about 4-1/2 years of age. Belle was found wandering alone in the backcountry, emaciated and weighing only 30 pounds. She has gained weight on a special diet but could still use a few more pounds. Initially nervous and skittish, she has made great strides as she learns to trust staff and volunteers. Smart, confident and eager to please, the Belgian Malinois breed is known to forge an unbreakable bond with their human partners. Exercise – and plenty of it – is also key to a Mal’s happiness, preferably side by side its owner. Sound like the kind of girl to join you on your next adventure or run? Why not come by and visit this active but gentle girl today. Should you have another dog at home, a meet ‘n’ greet is required. This breed does have a high prey drive so a home without cats and livestock is recommended.
As with all dogs available for adoption at the Calaveras Animal Shelter, Belle is microchipped and up to date on her routine vaccinations. She will need to be spayed before going home with you.

AO52976, along with other dogs and cats awaiting their forever homes at Calaveras County Animal Services, 901 Jeff Tuttle Drive, San Andreas (in government center by the new jail). Animal Services is open to the public from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Tuesday - Saturday (closed for lunch from 1-2 p.m.). Animal Services now has a Fee Flexibility Program!
When the dog or cat population at the shelter is at 80% or above capacity, the total adoption fee will be 50% off––reduced to $40 for dogs and $30 for cats. The adoption fee for cats who arrive at the shelter already altered will be $10. With the 55-5-5 Program, any time an adopter is 55 or older and adopts any pet over 5 years old, the adoption fee is $5.
