Law Enforcement a Focus for Murphys Community Meeting This Morning

Murphys, CA...The Murphys Community Park which normally plays host to entertainment and community events was the meeting point for a large group of community members with concerns on crime, traffic, safety & more. If you care not only about Murphys but what issues are facing many small communities in our areas this video is worth a watch. Sheriff Rick DiBasilio, Supervisor Merita Callaway, San Andreas Area CHP Commander, Lieutenant M. Banuelos & others talked about the issues facing local agencies that have to balance increasingly difficult legal constraints, funding issues and more that are impacting how local law enforcement agencies do their jobs.

Below is a bit more about the Murphys Community Club and Park who organized the meeting from VisitMuprhys.com

Murphys Community Park is located at 505 Algiers Street in Downtown Murphys. The park and restrooms are open to the public 8 am to 10 pm daily. Much better than Joe. I disagree with her on most issues but she does a good job for her district. The White House? Well that's borderline sad. By the end of it he may make Carter look like a great president.

Exactly the issue. Murphys and Calaveras in general a place of retired people unwilling to fund the levels of services they claim they want. And while it will always be a poor county.

Transplants want all the services and slaves along with bigger government jobs to retire from. Long time residents just want to be left alone to live quiet normal lives in the beautiful and quiet natural surroundings. Not golf courses, wineries and weekend businesses selling to tourists. Blasting bad music through the towns and dangerous traffic.

Being self sufficient and having a quiet natural place to live is worth far more than all this crap, that only a few who do not care about the county profit from. When they have ruined the county they will just move on, just like they have done to the Valley and Bay.

What you and other Citidiots call poor, is a beautiful natural place to live that is peaceful and slow paced. You will never understand this is actually a rich life away from the crowded, dirty, crazy traffic, high crime rate cities.

First off, why wasn’t there a pre meeting warning on the Pinetree? If there was forgive the accusation, but those I talked to said it was on Facebook, which I don’t bother with. Secondly, from what I heard nothing was solved regarding anything, typical government! Thirdly, There are many new issues facing us on hiway 4 not to mention as a nation. When our law officers ignore lawbreaking, as simple as pulling vehicles over with blacked out windows, which is illegal and I have had atleast 2 Hiway Patrollmen acknowledge after questioning them, who and what are they looking for? If our DA’s office has bought into this « go light on crime policy », I see why no one is respecting even the simplest of crimes! Passing the buck and excuses don’t go far in our household, and the least you could do is make some examples out of habitual law breakers, the word gets around, and you penalize those that break the law willingly and things will change. Please post the time and place of the next meeting, all of us want a chance to hear and ask of you, our government how you stand on these issues! Thank you

Allowing the Terrorizing of Murphys Residents

John did post about the meeting prior to it happening. Yes you are right nothing is being done to be proactive to the crime. I agree about the Facebook link and refuse to use Facebook. I value my privacy and have no need to see the worthless narcissistic drivel of others.

As for all the drunks in Murphys I think it is all the drinking establishments over serving alcohol. More cameras on the streets will tell how long people stay inside and how they navigate when leaving the alcohol establishments. Towns people need to demand that the servers are better trained as to how much to serve, noticing if some have been drinking before entering and more safe practices. Hold the establishments and servers liable that are over serving.

How about we start with a few good restaurants for the locals? I'm tired of mediocre food at bay area prices and menus that dont ever change.
All the restaurants are focused on tourists. How about even a Tuesday thru Thursday locals focus?
Business needs to acknowledge we also live here. Right now thats not their focus.

Good luck with that. The look down their noses at the locals and just want more like them to move here. They destroy our county with their selfish greed. They do not have nor will they ever have the love of small town and community we have enjoyed before their invasion.

To stop the continuous spread of this particular strain. The cycle will keep going if we don't all do our part. It's no different than a flu shot. It's just a different variant of the flu that's dangerous. Us healthy people spread it and then kill people. Is that so hard to understand? With the delta variant spreading in the county it will get even worse. Yet only a third of us in the county have done our part. Talk about pure selfishness, neglect and irresponsible. Stupid hillbillies with misinformation they believe to be true. Just get vaccinated and do your part to halt this.
